"You pull, you tank" is a bad mentality

If a DPS or healer pulls in front of you as a tank, refusing to grab aggro and watching them die (or not; sometimes the healer or DPS can survive easily) is just petty. It's basically a temper tantrum. It's an "I gotta teach them a lesson" sorta attitude that is frankly kinda cringe.

That's just my opinion! Tanks shouldn't do this!

Provided they have the common courtesy of dragging them to the tank, then sure there's no excuse.

Call me old school, but it's a good thing. If a DPS goes ahead and pulls things when I'm not ready to grab them, then it's on that player to handle them until I can. I appreciate courteous pulling, but too often the people who are doing it just rush ahead and go full-out which makes it more difficult to snag everything. When this happens, I'll use my normal attack rotation appropriate for the type of pull, but won't provoke off the DPS. If I happen to grab threat, great, if not, they pull, they deal with it.

I save Provoke for stragglers I miss on a pull or when the healer's got a friend that's too clingy.

If a dps or healer pulls on accident then I of course will take aggro off of them. If they pull intentionally while everyone is ready then I will probably take aggro off of them. But if they pull intentionally while people are in cutscenes or if most of the group is not ready then I will stand back and cheer for their death.

Perhaps I am just old school, but as a DPS I don't think I should be pulling mobs. That's the tank's job. I've seen plenty of DPS eat dirt because neither the tank or the healer appreciated their 'assistance'. Now if the tank fails to secure proper aggro after stopping their pull and a dps rips off... then that is the tanks fault. But if I pull ahead of the tank, even by accident, I fully expect to be kissing the ground within seconds.

I break it into 2 situations:
- If everyone is clearly able to do their jobs properly and additional stress doesn't matter on the healer, sure let's go. I don't mind someone else helping to make my job easier.

- If the healer is obviously new and is struggling and someone is too impatient and pulling things, I give it 2 wipes to see if the person pulling can put 2 & 2 together that we can't handle it. If not, then I let them die on the 3rd go.

Just...read the room before you pull. That's all.

If dps/healer are pulling mobs you're going too slow as a tank, honestly who cares that much lmao I just take the aggro and deal with it.

If it's lower level content I don't see the issue with going slow because odds are it's a new tank with a sprout icon. If it's higher level then yeah...wall to walls are expected.
