Petition to SE: Start banning modding users who engage in 18+ activities immediately

Let's actually discuss it.

Yoshi-P's statements were that third party tool usage is against Terms of Service. But... We cannot see what is on your PC's. " Crystal Clear ". Unless you advertise it openly in some manner, Square is in the dark. They only know that players generally use them cause a lot of it is " Free ".

Review the Pros and Cons mods. Square is pushed to keep the game updated with better features that mods otherwise will provide, largely for Free.

• Updated Graphics
• Better UI and HuD interfaces
• Improved Gpose
• Quality of Life changes
• Basic missing integrated features
• Game improvements that by default should already existed
• Proper Housing Tools

Mods also modify the appearances of certain items and glamours that even are locked behind Mogstation, encouraging a portion of players to buy more from the store. However on the other hand it does have its negatives...

• Botters that feed Goldsellers
• Cheating the system, think unlimited free Fantasia
• Tools that defeats the challenges of Raiding
• Speedhackers in PvP
• Gateway to NSFW content in a T rated game
• Then selling NSFW content for RL money against Square's Copywrite

There are a list of negatives that come with it. How well the Dev's take all of this possible negativity is speculation. We can assume they wouldn't be happy for players to experience the game in a very different manner then they intended due to third-party-tools.

The problem with outright banning everything? is Square losing subscribers. A large sum of the players uses tools for plethora of reasons. You'd have to get rid of...

• Advance Combat Tracker (ACT) + Combat FFlogs
• Dalamud Plugins with Mare Synchronis
• Universalis and its Marketboard ease
• Reshader, bbai Gposers
• Anything Housing, Decorators will love this

There's just to much to actually tackle, cause third party tools isn't limited to NSFW content no-no-no...it means.. " Everything ". That would lead to Square hiring GM's to be active when its impossible to police everything everywhere. Thus it would lead to forcefully making us install a tracking software that detects illegal software.

Because another way to view Mods and Third party tools? is that it " Reflects what players Desire ". They exist due to demand. And Square can use that as " Feedback ". If you silence this feedback? it just becomes totalitarian since we all know much " Give us your Feedback " means when ignored on the Forums.

Thus banning all third party tools costs Square more to solve then it does them any good. If it hurts their pockets so much you'd think they done something to it by now... knowing they aren't putting their foot down on it as hard as could? should tell you something...

Answer is simple... For Square it's not worth to solve it vs losing Subscribers over it. Disregard what mods do or provide for the player experience... once it costs Square their " Image " or their " Wallets " you'll know...

^- Reason why SE is keeping the status quo of "DO NOT TALK ABOUT IT!!!", simple and easy. The reason why you can keep screaming your lungs out until you pop a vein and nothing will ever change.

Everyone who thinks that SE will ever go on a full extermination rampage against modders is at best delusional. As sad as that might be, cause SE can't deliver the lacking features on their own, mods are what bring the game stability when it comes to their communities. A MMO has to value player activity over everything else and as weird as that might be the modding folks are the most active players. Roleplayers who mod sink thousands of dollars into the mogstation.

Getting rid of a huge chunk of your playerbase and taking the fun for them out of the game would result in a huge dent in their stock. Even if Yoshi P. would go full crusader, i think the investors would hold him back from destroying most of the games communities.

that might be their pr stance, but they full on dont care. People openly advertise the usage of mods ingame and nothing is done about those players. Their real stance is "keep buying fantasia and overpriced shop outfits and we wont do anything about you"
