Yes, short is popular. My Miqo'te is as short as she can be. Though I also made her bust small as it would look off if she was super stacked like most Miqo'te I see.

I fully expect the female Hrothgar to be short and more humanoid just so most players will want to play as them. Making them closer to Miqo'te or Au'ra is the only way they'll gain any traction.

That would be the intelligent thing to do, but they already said they would pander to the minority, even though they already have 3 ugly races to play. (highlander, roe, elezen)

Hrothgar is the only option we ever got.

I dunno. This is taking a lot of work for them and I'm sure they don't want to put all that in only for the race to be nowhere near as played as Hyur Male, Miqo'te Femalem or Au'ra female. If it reaches Roe levels then it would be seen as a failure.

Hrothgar are a niche. Being an unfilled niche was quite literally the defense of the race's implementation. "Seen as a failure" is the opposite of Yoshi's comment on Hroth's popularity because he is fully aware they are niche.
The point of a playable beast race is to be a playable beast race for people who would want to play beast races.
