I don't think this discussion would exist if there wasn't a resemblance.

This right here, you don't see anyone asking if Miqos, or even fem Au Ra that can be quite petite, are "children", but the question comes up a lot for Lalas.

I once saw the comparison of Lalas to Cabbage Patch Kids, something that doesn't look like a child in a literal sense, but it's still explicitly meant to have childlike characteristics, and superficially invoke the image of a child to any passerby observer.

Lalafell are heavily influenced by the chibi culture of japan. Deriving from chibi kyara which means tiny character. One thing that is popular in the east but not that much in the west which really shows in how differently the west and east see lalafell which are literally chibi characters.

So are Lalafell adults? Yes yes they are.

Are they made after the chibi artstyle? Yes, most definitely.
