People keep saying this, but it's honestly irrelevant. Per YoshiP, you know, the guy who directs the game, players should feel free to take breaks. If he is true to that, he should remove the series malmstone system and redirect it to high cost wolf marks or collars.
oh nyo you have to do some content in the game, whatever will you do, probably cry about it on the forumsPeople keep saying this, but it's honestly irrelevant. You're more than free to take breaks, and if you lose out on pvp glamour because of said breaks than that's on you. There's still a whopping4 months in between patches and if you can't be bothered to play then they must not had really wanted it.People keep saying this, but it's honestly irrelevant. If you are punished for taking breaks, you are not "free to take breaks". You and others keep trying to say something along these lines but contradict yourself immediately and then try to make it sound like it's my argument that has faulty logic. Kindly re-examine what you just said and try to tell me that makes sense.
I really don't get why people are so prone to defend exploitative and gross marketing like this. If this were a new MMO it would be laughed into an early grave. I suppose that despite playing the game less than I have, you and others making your argument just can't see past their love for the game.
If that were to happen I'd be fine with it.Just to point out, at no point have they said the rewards are available for a limited time. So, they could be released in the future for, what would most likely be, Trophy Crystals. So, saying you have a limited time to get them has no basis in fact, just the same as the claim that they are limited. This is still currently a grey area and until someone says something official, it will remain this way.
There was even a slide when they were first introducing all this that explicitly stated that the rewards will eventually be purchasable:

It should be obvious to anyone that they will not release them straight away, but delay them, how much they will delay them, who knows, but all evidence suggests that they will be purchasable in the future.
However, it has been over a year and nothing regarding this idea has taken place yet.
No it would not? FF14 is pretty much the only MMO without this kind of thing aside from a few seasonal events and the pvp stuff. Every other MMO lives by a ever changing world and with that removing items and rewarding veterans with exclusive stuff
Going logically, they will release the older rewards when they release a new series. New series only come on major patches, so only expect to hear something on 6.4 or 6.5. They might release things on 7.0, or they might do it in 6.55 as something people can do in the inevitable long stretch of time between 6.55 and 7.0 release.
All that to say, it is too early to say one way or another whether they will or will not release the items. Physical timescale means nothing, patch release however is what you should be looking for.
You are not punished for taking breaks. It's an aesthetic item that you don't need. It has a cost in playtime, feel free to pay it or not to pay it.If you are punished for taking breaks, you are not "free to take breaks". Let's say you see a pair of sneakers in a store that you think are really cool. You already have enough shoes at home, but still it would not be a financial burden for you so you might as well, but you still decide you'd rather not spend the money. You end up with no new sneakers, but your feet are plenty covered anyway. Have you been punished?

Have you been punished?Refer to what I've already said multiple times in regards to your "point."It's funny that you're talking about how gacha garbage has "brain damaged" people when-
Battle passes are "gacha garbage" too.
No one is saying that you shouldn't have to play PVP to get PVP rewards. You just shouldn't be coerced into playing over 100 games of PVP in a short period of time on threat of missing out on those PVP rewards forever. Your argument has conflated arguments from people who don't like Roulette Bonuses (literally who is arguing like this in here?) to people who just don't want to be forced to play a game mode they don't like over 100 times in quick succession on threat of missing out on unique items forever.
100 games of PVP is 100 games of PVP, regardless of what span of time you actually decide to play those games of PVP over. The effort and time put into those 100 games don't change because you played a game or two every week, and not everyday.
What you already said is what you were saying but hoping that using strong words like "threat" and "coercion" tricks the reader into thinking you are crusading against evil. It's not a threat, no one is smashing your car windows or taking away your medicines if you don't get Rank 25. It's not coercion, you can choose to work for the reward, or you can choose you don't care enough about it. And it's definitely no amount of small time, unless you voluntarily make it small, by taking breaks. You can comfortably get to rank 25 by the end of the battlepass by averaging one game of CC a day, and they last less than 5 minutes.
For developers to tickle that FOMO you were talking about, the FOMO needs to exist, and it looks to me like you are more predisposed to it than many others. And it's the same FOMO that makes you fail to realize you are responsible for taking what's on offer in the time it's on offer, or to let it go.
Go back to my sneakers example, but this time it's limited edition sneakers. Would you say Nike is coercing and threatening you because stock will eventually run out?
