using act isn't cheating
Player

Yoshi P has outright said that it is cheating. However, he does elaborate into the functionality of ACT being mostly a calculator that reads the battle log and compares it to someone writing it down on a piece of paper being comparatively the same thing. He never once says that ACT is okay, but he does hint and allude that it's a pretty low priority thing for SE and the staff to care about compared to other things. Secondly, ACT is capable of doing more than being a calculator. There is catbot callouts and other various plugins. Several timers that SE very much doesn't allow that are bundled with ACT. Not to mention several other functions like auto marker plugins which are often going back and forth within the ultimate community wither or not it's cheating. Waymarker presets which got a temp ban in P7 Savage. Pretending ACT isn't a door of entry for other various cheats is delusional. ACT is basically a cheat hub that comes as a blank slate until the user installs more features themselves. Pretending it's not cheating is disingenuous. Most of the community doesn't care about ACT but that doesn't make it any less of a third party add on that provides a slight advantage based off how you use it. I'm also pretty certain that a vast majority of people would consider ACT's Cactbot, Auto Makers. Triggers, and Timers to be "Mods". As far as SE goes with ACT and 'cheating'. It's a very much don't ask, don't tell, don't harass, don't stream with it displayed and you won't be caught and punished type deal.

It lowers the bar and so ppl are more open to cheat it, you can like that or not but its like that, ive seen it plenty...
I need to ask you - why do you even care? I absolutely agree that the mods used to place waymarkers are a step too far and the ban for creating them was deserved. Those weren't accomplished via ACT. As several people have said, ACT doesn't interact with the game. It reads the combat log and can run timers. CACTbot cheats the learning process of fights, but it doesn't execute mechanics for you. It doesn't show you where you need to stand. (I do think cactbot and automarkers cheat the spirit of the game though, personally).Yoshi P has outright said that it is cheating. I've used triggers personally, but usually just to play a sound to remind me to do a thing which is helpful after 2 hours of prog raiding to stop me from tunnel-visioning. Looking at you achievement profile though, you don't raid. So, I ask again, why do you even care? It has what looks to be zero impact on your gameplay experience.

Because its cheating. it gives you an unfair advantage.I need to ask you - why do you even care?
That arent in the native client.It reads the combat log and can run timers
It. is. cheating. it is playing the game for you. It is telling you about markers and mechanics that other people cant see.CACTbot cheats the learning process of fights, but it doesn't execute mechanics for you
Whether or not a person raids is IRRELEVANT to the fact you are using a third party addon you have been told time and time again NOT TO USE. You are cheating by using these programs..and to be blunt, if you cant win by playing without all these addons and crutches, then maybe thats a skill issue you need to address.I've used triggers personally, but usually just to play a sound to remind me to do a thing which is helpful after 2 hours of prog raiding to stop me from tunnel-visioning. If ones think they need to use all these third-party programs, looks like to me Yoshi just needs to do away with all the hard raids and content.

It wouldnt be the first time someone having making up their complete lack of experience or knowledge with overconfidence. Doesnt have to be as everyone could be an alt character but it would not surprise me.I need to ask you - why do you even care? Maybe you shouldnt go on about skill issues. Maybe you should learn how angles work first lmao.Because its cheating. it gives you an unfair advantage.

Whether I rise or fall, pass or fail, at least either way i will do it without addons. Honestly. On my own merits.Maybe you shouldnt go on about skill issues. Maybe you should learn how angles work first lmao.
As it should be.
