After closer examination I do have marks on my face, they just are covered by my hair and blend in with my skin tone xP

It doesn't really matter to me what players choose, but I do like the markings as they give an impression of having whiskers and make their faces more distinctive. If I did play as a Miqo'te, I would definitely choose to have the markings.

Because each race only have 4 face options. I think a lot of people (myself included) actually do prefer just vanilla human, but the reason why we sometime dip into the other races because of the face option. It's the same reason I think Au'ra face 1 is the most common since the horn is the least intrusive, even though face 3 is actually very nice, but the horn is way too big. Basically people roll another race for more option on the face, but still gonna try to make it as close to a human as possible.
Probably won't happen, but if the game let you pick the face options across all race, with the physical racial feature coming in its own separated group (like Viera and their ears), I bet you'll see a massive amount of people will roll midlander if they can access the meld of the other races.

I like the markings, but they weren't visible enough on my skin tone when I was a Keeper. So I had to use some face paint to add more prominent marks and just pretend.

I think some players are just thrown off from the expectations set by many miqos..,
Being Clones with marks clearly shown.
while those with marks hidden/blended/obscured by their hair or skin color don't get much pointed out as it does a similar effect.
Framing the face, or less contrast.
[never seen any outright calls against a miqo for obvious reasons.
but I imagine it's a them issue for having a lack of control, of not telling people they don't like their character creation/customization choices.]

Huh, I'd thought that both clans had the same markings, but playing with it now it seems that where Seekers have two symmetrical tattoo/marking options, Keepers take one of those two options and make it separate left/right toggles for asymmetrical markings. Seems like an odd way to do it when the specific marks seem to be about making them more catlike.
Anyway, I've got two male Seeker characters and used the outer-eye markings and cheek stripes on both of them (one had the eye markings permanently) but wasn't keen on the "three spots on the nose" marking.
I use the same facepaint on my keeper alt i recently created, i think its one of the coolest facepaints
I realized i was talking about the clan marks instead of the little stripes on the side of the face, but the rest of my point still standsHuh, I'd thought that both clans had the same markings, but playing with it now it seems that where Seekers have two symmetrical tattoo/marking options, Keepers take one of those two options and make it separate left/right toggles for asymmetrical markings. I wouldn't say I ever seen "Hate" being a face 1 Miqo'te, but I do get some people who act uninterested in me because I am not a face 3 clone. Weirdly enough, it seems to only matter from other Mi'qote players who just so happen to be face 3 themselves (usually erpers or gposers). The times I have been face 3, I get told that I'm generic and boring for being face 3 and that I look like every other Mi'qote. So then people push me to go back to face 1 because it's at least slightly "unique". Honestly it's a lose lose wither you're face 1 or 3.
