FOMO isn't real. Its made up nonsense.
FOMO isn't real. Its made up nonsense.
"FOMO" is not an officially recognized disorder and likely never will be. Its not real, despite whatever nonsense article you try to post. Its not recognized by the medical field. Its made up nonsense.
FOMO is just the newest fad of people that have "mental illness" as their only personlity trait so they try to come up with a milion "illnesses" they can claim for themselves.
Gee, it's a good thing I never called FOMO a mental disorder, but a manipulative business practice. Speak to my argument, not what you wish my argument was for your convenience.
Yes I am aware of that! Did you know that PVP only got popular after they started punishing players for not playing PVP nearly as often with rewards that can never be obtained again?
The difference is those were one time events, usually related to legacy players or specific events like Shantotto's Burgeoning Dread or even the FF15 crossover.
FFXIV still succeeds despite those now being gone. PVP only "succeeds" because it's exploitative.
But yes, go off on how despite YoshiP saying he wants players to feel like they can take breaks, it's okay to simultaneously punish them for doing so.
Uh, do you know Feast rewards? How can you even claim pvp only got succesful with "FOMO" when the pvp from the first day was based on limited rewards for the top 100Gee, it's a good thing I never called FOMO a mental disorder, but a manipulative business practice. Funny thing that. The Feast is competitive. I have CONSTANTLY said through this topic that competitive rewards should be reserved for the competitive. I'm fine with a limited number of pieces of gear/rewards going to those that earn it as a matter of effort. It's why I don't complain about the rewards for getting into crystal CC rank.
Series Malmstones are by no means competitive and are derived solely from your play time in PVP modes. It's made to be accessible to everyone, but really isn't when it just pressures people into playing it an unreasonable amount of time. I can and have completed a HW relic faster than the time it takes to go through 25 ranks of the Series Malmstone. It's miserable.
"waaaaaah i cant control myself i need to have the glam but i dont want to do pvp give it to me i'm entitled to it !!!!" "i'm forced to get it i'm being exploited by square enix !!!!"Gee, it's a good thing I never called FOMO a mental disorder, but a manipulative business practice. just get help already
NEver called it a disorder, it is a behavioral trend used in buisness practices however
same was behavior around the concept of "skinner boxes" is used
I have again and again advocated of useing a PVP Currency to use for those that missed the initial run , it also gives a good use of collars for newer players, still grindy, still takes time to do, just not time locked.
note: ive maxed every series, but i have care to think about others that arnt myself
FOMO is just companies preying on human nature. If people like and want something for themselves, they hate missing out. Black Friday puts this on full display. It doesn't really require a diagnosis. It's just how we are wired as a species.
