You don't have to be a mentor to give good advice. Stop putting all responsibility on mentors.

I understand their purpose is to help players, but to expect them to know the ins and outs of every fight is ludicrous. Especially when all mentor status really requires that takes a modicum of effort is the comms (which you can get out of pity or for having a good personality).

please re-read, wasn't putting all the responsibility on mentors. that's why i suggested the grade system which turns off the crown for said instances they fail mechanics at. Good morning from East Coast o/

This. People commend for literally anything(or don't commend these days). There's no guidelines on commendations for the most part(it's something generic about someone that was helpful or made a positive experience, I don't remember what the NPC says).

Oh and let's be honest, the battle mentor requirement isn't much either, but we're already struggling so much to find any mentors that are willing to do anything in the novice network as it is sooooo if we up the requirements the NN is going to be dead. That might be for the best consider most of the Novice Networks are just glorified chats anyways.
