There is no 'working for it'. Malmstone rewards don't fundamentally change in difficulty. It's still the same farm and still the same % of winning/losing, if it's 6.1 or 6.5. At best, some jobs might perform slightly better or less than before, but the difference is minuscule and not worth taking into account.

If someone got the Archfiend attire, they didn't necessarily put in more work than someone who got the False Monarchy attire, or someone who gets the next Malmstone glam coffer. There is no distinguishing factor, so there is literally no reason to make it FOMO.
    What a braindead take.

Work is work, whether or not it's a grind. If it wasn't, there wouldn't be a complaint about it being "difficult" to obtain.

The fact you don't think having something no one else has is not an incentive is asinine... Look at all the glowing ultimate weapons in limsa or week 1 items. People running around with rare/expensive mounts or minions. Have you seen the mog station? Do you not understand why people buy stuff off it?

Fomo how? You have 4 months to get it barely playing a whopping 2 matches a day, maybe 13 minutes of your time. The entitlement and laziness of this playerbase is mind boggling.

That you say "What a braindead take" and then follow up with "Fomo how?" is a level of irony I haven't seen in a while.

I'm hopefully not talking down to you. I've just been dealing with the pvp grind lately and started seeing the rough edges on the thing. After the first Crystal Conflict Season for the special archfiend attire I thought I'd be done with it, but they released another glamour set that is time limited and now I'm back to grinding again.

FFXIV is just not a good PvP game and never was. Originally before Crystal Conflict it was all wolf marks and there was no time limit on getting items, so even if it was not the most impressive content, it wasn't really pushing people into doing it either. Now it is turning into limited time deals. "Come buy this shiny new jar now or you'll never have it!" The game was founded on being what other games were not, so seeing them do what other games do at end game to try to mentally force people into playing it feels unnatural. Perhaps even more so now that we're in the dull, slow point between expansions where content is drip fed and the only thing left are these long grind type activities.

Personally I have fun in PVP, and so does a certain percentage of the playerbase else it wouldnt exist, the game shouldnt adapt to those that dislike PVP in the game, it should adapt to those that keep the system going by actually playing it.

They could balance it more ,absolutely, but malmstones keep people playing the gamemode, and not only for the rewards, some people like me just genuinely have fun in it.

You know you don't have to get every piece of glamour in the game right? God forbid content exists for pvpers to work towards. Rank 25 isn't even a grind and this really just seems like a you problem.

You have 4 months to complete it at an extremely casual pace, there is no fomo.

Do the babies get that upset that their limsa afk might get interrupted for 13 minutes? Oh noooo!

Idk about the guy who posted it, but I'd say CC isn't poorly designed it's just that FF14 is poorly designed for PvP. The game doesn't allow for plays like you would see in WoW or more responsive MMORPGs.

I think the most ethical way to deal with this is put the exclusive items in an in-game shop after a set time. I think selling them for crystals (maybe for a larger amount) so players still have to play the same PvP mode.
