I mean, it’s pretty obvious to me lol.
People realised it’s literally impossible to get banned, blocked or otherwise moderated on the english forums, so they just say whatever the fuck they want now because there are absolutely no consequences.

They DARE criticize the game ? Quick, ban them ! Is basically what people like you and op are asking for
MMO forums have always learnt in the direction of negativity from my 20 year experience. If we would take that at face value then WoW would have been dead during BC haha. We are after all the minority of players who bother to not just speak up on the game, but find the official forums outside of places like Reddit or Twitter. Our opinions are going to naturally be more emotionally driven and bias then what the majority think.
I do feel that of late, there is a more… vindictive stride to such criticism. If you do not agree that the game/current content is bad 100%, then you are just a white hat/knight who worships the game and will accept no criticism etc. Attacks feel more personally sharp and stoked in venom then active constructive debate. To be fair I also think this is something that has popped up in all type of media discussion, not just here or on MMO forums. Sure, it also appears the other way around as all things do which also sucks, but the scales of Nald'thal seem to tip in one direction more then the other.

What a reasonable take.MMO forums have always learnt in the direction of negativity from my 20 year experience. If we would take that at face value then WoW would have been dead during BC haha. ...I hate it and you. Personally. A lot.
(/s it's sarcasm it's heckin ironic I swear)
Actually not true, I did get suspended twice in these forums. One for calling somebody a "nimrod" and the other I cant recall. The mods are checking, just not interacting.
Was that person reported? The mods here only interact if its a mass report, you talk negatively about Mr. P. if someone leaks the next expansion skills or they need close forums posts because of server space.
for a year, would you rather be secretly filmed at random moments and have the footage uploaded to your social media or loose $100 when ever you said a curse word?
I got a ban for “are you being intentionally obtuse?” To someone speaking in circles. It doesn’t take much. Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if I get one for this post
Now i was not involved or know the specifics on what was discussed in those forums during that time, but this is a really odd take with what you are trying to portray. Yes, WoW is not dead (like most MMOs), but IIRC WoWs peak came in WotLK where the decline began and soon after they started hiding sub counts...and with the sentiment of WoW pre-dragonflight, idk...maybe they shouldve listened?
