Okay, yeah the thread title is a little bit. But it does have some truth to it.
If you've played the Beta, the comparison here is how seamless and coop the world is compared to XIV. Even just from a technical perspective, not just how the content itself is presented.
XIV is still an MMO, but D4 is pushing some serious server tech that definitely makes you think of what could be. It makes me jealous for XIV, because these are things I've been asking for in our game to make it feel more lively.
Ff14 feels more like a mmo than any other mmo on the market, cause for me a mmo is defined by the social aspect, which i get more of here than anywhere else
though i would like more open world cooperation
Draw back of large talent trees. And what good about Diablo 4 as a MMO?
There is a big talent tree system yet most of it will be irrelevant as early on there will be 1-2 broken builds and later on whatever flavour of the seasonal changes create. It's an illusion of choice. And as a whole it's "easy to get in, hard to master" and this game can't even handle equipping your job stone or cure I spam at max level
And I doubt people would be happy wih 6.4 where raid is overtuned, only few/one job per role is "valid" because of 50%+ better performance or very specific ability that trivalizes the encounter.
Yes, with all of that complexity and imbalance you can create a broken powerful character and have some fun, but that's very limited in longevity and not really good for a MMO.

*Diablo has become an online only mess where "Boss enemy will spawn in X minutes!"*
*XIV is nearly soloable depending on how much you want to unsync the MSQ fights*
I hate this timeline.

False. The game lets you get to a certain point then FORCES you into the new expansion zones. You can even start a new character and level that in old expansions synced.

When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.
