Just on a side note: Dragon I love this part of your signature "The Officially Unofficial Officiator of Unofficial Official Business" made me lol :3, I would also add personally "which is officially unofficial" at the end of it.. just to tie it ALLL together <3 lol

I like your ideas, and i only found one problem, this game is for casuals and hardcore alike, and a casual wont have time to use 20 hours to gain a skill like it was in xi

Thats the thing though, atm, this game Is NOT for hardcore players.. its FAR FAR FAR to easy to get top level, in-fact, this game is so easy, there is no Beginning-middle-late game for it, its all end-game, lvl up to 50 in a week, and do the main story, and fight NM's that are rediculously easy and solo-able.

Now I know they are fixing that, and are gonna do a glorious job like they have so far fixing FFXIV, but my suggestion is a way to keep both hardcore, and casual players happy with the leveling.

To further my explanation, If they lowered the exp for killing stuff, and lowered the Quest Exp, and items, and raised the over all difficulty of gaining gil, and levels, that would favor hardcore players, not casual...

But as it stands, its not really favoring hardcore players either...

So thats where my Idea comes in. It doesnt mess with the current setup which is liked by casual players, but it allows hardcore players to focus on something as well. Casual players are Casual Players, they understand or "should" understand there may be stuff they wont get because their casual. Most Casual players really dont care if they get everything anyway.

So thats where the Elite class comes in, Casual players can still unlock it, can still achieve stuff in it, but very very slowly over time, where as a hardcore player can focus on it and unlock everything in a year+, Casual players can also simply ignore it all together, and not be effected in the fun they have casually playing the game.

It will only seem 'unique' until 'a lot of people' do it. The suggestion you have put forth is not very future-proof. Perhaps a tiny bit of a modification?

For example, a person can have only one Elite Class? (This will prevent everyone from having all Elite Classes 2 days after they are released).

Perhaps a quest can be given such that you can 'abandon' your elite class and move to another 'elite class'. (With no loss of Exp or skills, just no longer able to sue the old elite class until you re-do the quest. And maybe this can only be done once a month or so).

But yes, further increasing the possible 'roles' that one can take will increase diversity.
Limiting the number of roles one can be, will also increase diversity.
Making it harder to fullfil those roles, will also increase diversity.
(If you can not get 7/7 on elite roles in 2 days, but it takes 2 years, you will be much less likely to see clones of you everywhere).
I like the Idea, One mo is too long though. I would say, a week? also allow you to modify your AF in different styles to lessen the clone feel you get from seeing others with your same job.

I think this is the kind of thing that could be great, but only after a couple of years down the line when there are enough classes/jobs and a high enough level cap to justify it. I would hate it if the level cap jumped to 80 in the next year. I would never catch up. Some casual players such as myself simply don't have that kind of time available.

Yea again, with my Elite classes, their for hardcore players to pursue, but casual players will still be able to do their part in parties, etc. without feeling like their falling behind, since Elite Classes just have a few exceptionally powerfull abilities, but are still using the other classess abilities.

Out of curiosity, how would you level them? Paladin levels Gladiator, White Mage levels Conjurer. Would Holy Knight level anything but Holy Knight? Naturally if the game continues to be a success, there will inevitably come a time that SE will raise the level cap.
