Why take someone who takes a little less damage when you can take someone with a larger hp pool and can help kill the enemy faster?WAR isn't a better tank than PLD. he just deals more damage.
HOWEVER:
Extra stats from Shield, Hallowed Ground, Divine Veil, War Drum, Aoe Flash, Cover, Stoneskin, Cure, Sacred Prism,
Aegis Boon, Outmaneuver, Aoe Rampart AND SUCH!!
Can't be outdone by Collusion and Antagonize(always imo)
And besides, Tank's job aint DPS...

That's the problem; Paladin needs to take a LOT less damage.
I always envisioned Warrior being the AOE trash tank, or single target tank to deal out more damage to help end a fight faster for weaker bosses.
Paladin should be the tank that does less damage but takes less as well. If they're not going to give Paladin a huge defense increase over Warrior, then they should at least increase their attack significantly, because a lot of people don't seem to want to take a Paladin as a tank, even after their "buffs".
That's true - one big problem is that PLD's have about 75% as much HP as Warriors. And while they have more ability to self cure, when a mob is hitting you for 900 damage, the extra HP makes a huge difference.
I want to use my HP sentinel gear too, but then I loose the enhancements from the PLD armor. Even with the new adjustments, it's hard to keep a PLD alive.
And put a PLD and a WAR in a PT together and have them battle for hate, see who ends up getting it. PLDs have better AOE hate control for sure, but the enmity system in general is just baffling.

Mp regen - healing enmity output - damage reduction, PLD gets more interesting in group play. XI PLD was just fine.
