I agree actually, which is half of why I'm patronizingly asking. I already know the answer, but just to help fire the neurons of someone else-maybe encourage a bit of a spiritual awakening for a few others here and hopefully get them to either at least put up a house skin other than default so their neighbors who dreamed of finally getting a house dont have to walk out and look at eye-sore abandoned miserable shell wards or ideally just let it go to someone else entirely-but there's no way a vanity hoarder would dare let another take and actually USE their precious digital house trophy so. But maybe like, maybe someone somewhere will see this and go. Hm. Maybe I should do something with that. Just on the small sliver of hope. Please at least pretend to be interested in your houses, friends.

I get where you’re coming from… with the scarcity, I feel like there’s a lot of people who feel like “if I don’t get a house now, I’ll never get one,” so they end up lucking into one, and then they don’t have either the time or money to fix it up. Which makes those of us who are really into decorating want to cry! lol

But that’s why auto-demo exists… if they don’t do anything with it for a long enough amount of time, it’ll go back on the market. It’s a crappy system but unfortunately there’s not enough houses to go around.

The lottery system was requested by players on the basis that people who barely play and are barely interested in housing plots should have an equal chance at getting one. And now they do. The end result was obviously going to be more houses owned by people who aren't online much and don't care about their house.

We can twist and turn the system all we want but until SE can set the system up so that every player gets exactly the plot(s) they want with the features they want, there will be drama and dissatisfaction.

House is fully decorated, although it took me a couple years to figure out what I wanted to do with the basement (it's now an underground jungle with a strange shack). I'd do more with it but the item limit makes that hard.

Losing your house just because you choose not to do anything with it is just as stupid as resetting your Eureka lvl to 1 because you stopped doing Eureka. The whole auto demolition is stupid and a pathetic fix by SE. What should be done is for SE to fully overhaul the whole housing process because it doesnt work.

It wont work regardless of any limits. Need 50 furniture inside? thats 50x a 1k item dumped on the floor. Outdoor? How about some basic trees clumped in a corner.

It not only wont help, it could actualy result in something even more awful as those people will just dump anything there to reach the required limits. Some people already make an ugly mess, we dont need more of these.
