Onion Knight was just the default/starter job in the original version of FFIII and the pixel remasters too. I believe it was renamed to 'Freelancer' in the 3d remakes. As far as I remember from my time in the pixel remaster it didnt have anything special to it, though the final dungeon had a set of 'Onion Knight' armor that dropped rarely from the more powerful monsters there, that made the job more viable lategame. So I often see people praising onion knight as a job and wishing for it to be playable in 14 and various other job-centered FF titles, but... I don't get it? What even is onion knight's theme? What is its draw? What kind of job is it even supposed to be? A knight? That already exists. Does it use magic? Does it do anything special? I legitimately have no idea.
What's the draw?
