If you cant see the different between WoW questing and FF14 questing, i doubt you ever done any in WoWHaving earned the Loremaster title for both Horde and Alliance side before Cataclysm, and again after it got split up into zone-based titles, if you believe 'questing' is completely different, you're living in an entirely different universe.
And yes, I do all of the quests in FFXIV. It's simple enough while leveling 19 jobs, with little to no downside.
....ooooooh. You're talking about the so-called "World Quests" in WoW. The replacement for the blue "Daily Quests" when Legion came out?!? The ones that you can finish in 20 minutes without help? Soooooo much RPG!
If you desire actual Roleplay in game, you're in the wrong data center in this game.
"This game isn't in maint"
Yes it is

Why would they put effort in? They know the community is zealous enough to keep playing while they divert all resources to 16 which aside from combat i feel like is gunna flop aswell. People will buy anything they make in ffxiv look at mog station and all the undyable garbage.
When the breaking point hits, it'll hit hard. Same thing happened to WoW.Why would they put effort in? They know the community is zealous enough to keep playing while they divert all resources to 16 which aside from combat i feel like is gunna flop aswell. People will buy anything they make in ffxiv look at mog station and all the undyable garbage.
I am getting tired trying to be remotely reasonable rather than doom and looming like a lot of people are round here. So because we don't have a new zone to spam fates for a currency drop people think its in maintenance mode...a lot of the doom and gloom stems from the relic being mishandled this step. There are other factors as well but lets not kid ourselves in that this was the main sticking point amongst the very vocal minority (that all this forum is...a vocal minority)
A game in maintenance mode wouldn't of had to stop sales, wouldn't of expanded servers and data centers (which they are doing more this summer for NA/EU) they wouldn't invest in making the new player experience much smoother (ultimately making it more accessible to new people who are unsure of dipping their toes into an MMO) they wouldn't of expanded the free trial because if it was in maintenance mode what would be the point. Why update the visuals at all if its going to have the plug pulled at some point...why make an expansion if its in maintenance....there are so many questions that sort of break the logic a little bit.
But once again this goes to resource allocation....say I have 10 units to put into the game and 2 units were dedicated to the relic and its open zone...if I sat there and was like man after Endwalker we really picked up a ton of new players but a lot don't like the base game or its still too uninviting shall we take a unit from this and put it to this (example reworking dungeons, boss mechanics, duty support, trials made into solo duties and redesigned, prae and castrum rework) and maybe that will make that experience slightly better which would get us more players and revenue. You would do that even if you pissed off some of the vets...because once again not every patch caters to everyone. It sucks I know and I want more things to do and to commit more time to it but if they are utilising their FINITE resources in foundational changes and redoing things to allow more people to play the game I love so be it...but guess what and this I will put my hand up if I'm wrong in a years time...once duty support is done....one they are happy with their reworks of dungeons etc...those resources go back into other things.
I view Endwalker and its patches as them re-doing a lot of core systems in the game (PvP, Crafting/Collectibles, QoL in UI etc etc) but I get frustrations of players but sometimes cause they are so angry that focus in on things rather then step back and view a bigger picture.
