Yeah. I'll probably finish my relic and run through Eureka Orthos once and go right back to WoW to do some Timewalking. I was planning to play both games, but I could not possibly be any more bored in FF XIV than I am right now. I am even tempted to skip Hildibrand cutscenes to get this out of the way faster and that is something I never do.

It's a double edge sword you know. You can do those 4-5 weekly timewalking dungeons in WoW, the relic weapon and DD after which you will have total freedom to plan what and how you want to play without any "fear of missing out" systems.

Still if you don't set your own goals in FF14 that are something more than currrent content then the expansion format is pretty much play at patch X.5 till X.0 of next expansion, do X.0 content and then take a break till X.5 and repeat.

Speaking of WoW, I took a gander at their forums since people here are talking so positively about it to see if maybe I should give them another chance. Haven't really touched it since Legion and some free weekends.

First thread I saw: Dragonflight is the worst expansion I've ever played.

Second thread: WoW quality going downhill fast

Third thread: This game needs to slow leveling bad!

They might be in a different order now. And the other threads are just standard forum talk. But I was serious about giving it another try because Dracthyr(sp) and dragon riding sound cool. Is this just another case of forums being negative and everyone that actually enjoys DF are actually playing the game? The WoW forums are notoriously bad so maybe that's the case.

They could also be trolls and/or people just focused on the negative. Which is the same exact thing we have here. So, there's that.

Like I've said before (It might have even been in this thread?), their forums aren't much different from this one most of the time. Despite what the WoW forums may say at times, DF is doing pretty well for itself despite its flaws. Those threads are just complaining for the sake of complaining, though I will be the first to admit that DF isn't perfect. If you are thinking of giving it a go, it might be best to try it for yourself and form your own opinion. Personally, I would recommend it, but ultimately that is up to you to decide.

Thanks, I may give it a try because some of the features really do sound cool to me. I always take forum posts with a grain of salt because it's usually just people complaining for the sake of complaining. Which is exactly what we have on this forum, so it's no different.

I will say though, it was kind of funny reading your previous post about how bored you are here and one of the top threads on the WoW forums that I initially chose not to link here was literally titled: Bored Already? What would keep you playing?

Yeah it's the same thing as these forums. We all just air our own grievances. The only difference to me is they can actually continue to play their game while being pissed at Blizzard, and you KNOW they played literally 24/7 since the day expac released. Meanwhile I've been basically idle 5 days after the release of Endwalker, because there's been nothing to actually do for me. Once patch content releases, I get a dopamine hit for about an hour and then it's back to doing idle retainers and daily roulettes. Even Relic just forces me back into the same Roulette spam with Crystal Tower and Praetorium.

I may have gotten way too hype about Variant and Island Sanctuary that it put me straight into a depression hole with how absolutely horrible they were to me.

POTD 3.0 might keep me busy for the week, so I'm at least sorta thankful for that.

If people want the happy FFXIV feedback loop, then you go to r/ffxiv - Because they moderate the shit out of it and clean up any upset players. This is the only place we're allowed to be upset.

Yea it’s honestly sad, and I even hear I don’t feel like they are listening. This relic step is god awful and I cannot fathom how they couldn’t have given something else to it. Hell I would have taken fate grind at this point….
