I don’t know about the future but SE will have to innovate and offer interesting content soon with all the new MMOs on the rise like AoC, Pax Dei, Riot’s MMO, Throne & Liberty, Blue Protocol for the weebs, Archeage 2, Palia and many others…

I find myself wondering just what that word is supposed to mean. Playing a Japanese game makes you a "weeb"?Blue Protocol for the weebs
Seriously..?

Super edgy anime style with super edgy story.
Focus on boob jiggle + sexualized female characters to attract coomers.
So no, playing a japanese game doesn’t make you a weeb, depends on what you play though.
I do not see Dark Souls/Elden Ring or even Yakuza as weeb games.
Any other question ?
Palia focuses on community, housing, gathering, hunting and chill activities. Much less combat. I do not know any MMO with that focus in mind, some have a few of those features but they’re half baked or badly implemented.
Pax Dei is action combat with focus on community and player generated content (sandbox game, no quests so I imagine a lot of exploration going on there). Will see how it goes.
Ashes of Creation is action combat too, where you can have a main and secondary class like good ol’ Guild Wars 1. Lots of possibilities there, especially with outdoor content and exploration.
I’m mainly saying SE will need to innovate to retain players because a lot of MMOs are coming out in the near future and yes will be both more dynamic gameplay-wise and with better graphics. Just need 1 to succeed and drain players from FF, WoW, GW2 and all the rest.

FFXIV Does all of those things that Palia does. Probly the 1 edge it has is probly Housing.Super edgy anime style with super edgy story.

Pax Dei sounds cute, but whos knows how long that might last
Ashes I never had an interest in, and I hear mixed things
Many MMOs have come out, and just cause they have these things dont really mean they will be successful, or take away FFXIVs playerbase.
Naturally people will check them out..and its not like you cant play more then 1 MMO

Do any of those games even actually "Innovate" or are they just exciting because "new toy"?
Its not shocking that something new will turn heads, but the real test and question is, will it last long enough to build a large enough community and sustain itself?

I can't speak for any of those but AA2 since I played the original and... with fixes I can see it rivalling the big name MMOs. AA has pretty good PvP, a diverse set of classes, a trade good system that's rarely seen in MMOs (as in you make goods to trade into NPCs) that also ties into the PvP nature of the game long grindy gear progression both for PvP and for even setting up your trading empire, even naval combat.
So... while I wouldn't say its innovated NOW, at the time of its release it was pretty unique and there's still nothing exactly like it on the market.
Its pitfalls were the changing of the trade system, how RNG gearing was and pay to win. If they fixed the latter problems while keeping the old trading system or making something just as enjoyable I at least would move over... despite it being heavily PvP oriented (that isn't to say it doesn't have PvE ala dungeons/raid its just not AA's main draw)
I'm tired of being told to wait for post-patches and expansions for fixes and increased healing requirements that are never coming. Healers are not fun in all forms of content like all jobs should be, they're replaced by tanks and dps due to low healing requirements and their dps kit is small for 0 reason, when in the past we had more options and handled things just fine. I refuse to play healer in roulette come DT. I refuse to heal EXs, I refuse to go into Savage, and I am boycotting Ultimate.

My problem is all the American and Korean MMOs I've tried are so dry, it's just not my thing. I just started today's FF XIV patch and the Loporrit tribe quests are insane lol. So there's that. I give FF a big win in aesthetics, great design of things like bosses. There I said something positive today.
