Mounts and minions are not content. The Pizza emote and Butterfinger mount do not receive new items to use with them every patch. Houses do.

There is a massive portion of the game that less that half of the active NA/EU playerbase can enjoy. All because Square doesn't want to add more wards/instance things.

I legit would pay an additional 20 dollars a month in sub fees for an instanced house. Many others have said the same thing. I even suggested it to a community rep in 2019 in a QnA. But Square just seems to want to bury their heads and ignore the community.

I'm tired. I've been trying for a SMALL since 2.4. I still have no house. I feel like the game just doesn't have housing at all, despite me offering to pay additional money for it.

Same… I mean I had suggested maybe a retainer like fee, around $5 a month which is like $60 a year. But at this point, I don’t care what it would cost as long as the instanced plot is both indoor and outdoor, has all the same functionality, and can be made to look like any plot in the existing wards. I have a thread called Instanced Housing: Ideas & Details a bit further down. Beyond the problem of just securing a house at all, there’s never going to be enough mediums and larges for those that want them. With instanced, everyone could not only participate in housing, but also have their dream plot, without having to take anything away from anyone else. Let the wards stay as they are, but make an instanced option for those that want it.

There’s another Q&A for the PAX East thing on the 24th, and there’s a thread to post questions. I may try to write something up about instanced housing for that.

It’s just so soul-crushing to lose lotto after lotto… if I didn’t love the rest of the game so much, this housing situation would have made me rage quit a long time ago. This game does so many other things so well, it’s incredibly frustrating that they can’t get this right.

I don’t do alts. (I do have a level 2 conjurer alt that I created before New Game Plus came out because I wanted to relive the story. NGP made the alt irrelevant.) That’s one of the upsides of this game is that you can do everything on one character. And transferring my main, with all the stuff I’ve accumulated over the years, not to mention my social ties to participate in another lotto on an underpopulated server where I know no one is a hard ask.

And do what exactly? All my friends and FC RP events are on Crystal. Literally a decade of character building and storylines. And Walk up RPers just will not go through the tedium of DC travel just to see a house.

Sure I can make an alt on Dynamis and get a house. In fact I DID. I cannot decorate it. I cannot do anything to it on my main. All the neat, untradable things I have, gil, crafting skills, none can be used by the level 63 catboy alt. I can't even give him any of it without having someone come over via DC travel to be a pack mule.

I don't see why anyone would be against more wards/instanced housing for the life of me. It not only FLOODS the Furniture market with new buyers for the crafters, it also is a boon to new players who start the game or have yet to start the game.

Someone who started last month should have started in Dynamis. If they skipped all the bonuses to play on a busy server and can't get a house, that's their own fault. Veterans with connections have an excuse to not move, completely new players have no excuse.

Yes. Because the first thing you would think is "I should go buy a house instantly!" instead of finishing the MSQ, Leveling, unlocking other things. And the Gil given could be spent elsewhere by a new player who doesn't have the immediate knowledge that housing is a "GET IT NOW." situation.

Housing is a side quest that is easily missed by a new player and not mentioned. All these houses were immediately gobbled up by transferring vets/vet alts and now new players who finally are finished with EW look around and see every plot taken.

Besides, imagine someone who started fresh today. By the time they get to max and look at housing, it's all going to be gone.

Again, the people here who have houses cling on to this "Forget you, I got mine. No more for the suckers who lost an RNG roll!" mentality that baffles me to no end.

And honestly, there should be enough houses on a server for everyone who plays on that server to have one. Most of the NA worlds are locked now. New people are starting on the new servers as they should, since 6.3. But older players transferring to the new worlds should not be the only action taken to address the problem. Because eventually Dynamis will grow and have the same problem: too many people, not enough houses. There’s only 9000 plots a server if I have my math right. Now look at how many people play on any given server. Then figure in that individual players and FCs are both vying for those plots. There’s nowhere near enough for everyone and we’re all paying the same sub.

Now we can either start getting ridiculous with restrictions and trying to get rid of multiple home-ownership (which as others have said would only be a drop in the bucket anyways) or we can push for an instanced system which can actually solve the supply issue. Let the 30 wards stay as they are, but add instanced to make up for the shortfall. I know I’m repeating myself here, but throwing more wards and even more worlds is not solving the core problem. My world was a preferred world when I started… only takes a few years to grow congested.

Because it doesnt make sense to throw server capacity on overcrowded servers. It only make sense to install new worlds to spread the playerbase. Specially with the login queues on new addon releases. I swear the Crystal DC should spent less time in RP and visiting a Business course from time to time.
