For better or for worse 16 won't fail. Yoshida did what he does best as a producer, which is chasing what is the trendy gameplay style to copy, make it more streamlined and dress it up in Final Fantasy references and characters.
I'm just happy the guy's stepping down. Will it make a difference? Probably not, but man does it make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Same goes for the absorption of Luminous Productions after Forspoken was DOA. Again, it probably won't make a difference, but I love to see it regardless. It's an admission of failure, even if they are trying to spin it another way. The shareholders clearly aren't happy, and they have every right to be upset. The list of blunders is a mile long at this point, and that started well before Forspoken launched. If FF 16 fails, SE could be in some serious trouble.
