Some of these are last week old, but still recent enough. Have Fun
Bro this thread is still young to post that, the tea here is cold, simmering at best.
This.Citing "more msq" as content for a "good" patch is actually peak comedy, it takes about 20 mins to complete it, an hour if you're slow.
new ultimate sure, for the small minority that does them
new alliance raid, okay, was actually pretty underwhelming as a raid but sure I guess
Although they're exaggerating the MSQ bit. Probably takes about an hour if you're not watching cutscenes/button mashing text.
New ultimate is accurate. I don't get why so many people make such a big deal out of it when it's only such a small minority bothers. No, I'm not saying to take it away for that reason, I'm just pointing out that it's not content that something like 95% of the player base even attempts.
Euphrosyne is a bit bland. The design is actually really, really pretty, but people have been speeding through the raid since week 2. Most of the bosses are dying right as they start their transitioning into the second phase, and that's not because the general public is incredibly good at the game or is running it at the ilvl cap. It's because it's easy.
FF XIV is probably still the best overall. I think that says more about the state of MMOs than this game. None of the big hype games are MMOs any more. Blizzard are still rolling with the one they launched back in 2004. Namco's Blue Protocol at least looks like it could be good but there's some concerns about Amazon bringing it to the west after the way they handled some other games.
I think there's a possibility that FF XIV starts to get more creative again now that FF XVI development is wrapping up. I don't see how losing many key staff to that game could not have affected the quality of XIV updates. And I'm finally starting to get hyped for XVI now that I've seen the gameplay slice they let the media playtest. I wasn't a fan of turning FF games into action style but this looks better than the other attempts and certainly above XV.
I didn't know you could get Halone and Menphina to 0.1% before their transitions.
The success(or missing shareholder's mark) of XVI kinda worries me. SE is in search of a hit after a number of failures. If XVI is a banger then there's no way they don't task CBU III with more games or shuffle people around and I don't even want to think of what would happen if XVI follows the trend or even has a slow start like XV did.I think there's a possibility that FF XIV starts to get more creative again now that FF XVI development is wrapping up. That May-June time frame is a little bit busy too so here's hoping.
So, you're trying to pass off personal opinion as if it's fact? My opinion? The patch content was a lot of fun, I'm enjoying the Variant dungeon and still have a few paths left to do, haven't even tried Criterion or IS yet (but looking forward to), and I just don't really care about emotes, so whatever is going on with them is meaningless to me. The parts of the game that matter to me were a solid triple this patch (not a home run, but still very good).Another round of undyable outfits in the Mogstation that we have to pay for
Lackluster patch content. You know it's bad when people are excited for deep dungeons because there's nothing else to do. Crit & variant dungeons were a flop. Island Sanctuary is still a 5 minute get in, get out content when you consider how many people just use the Discord for workshop recs.
Recycles /eat emotes for the past couple events, new /dance emote doesn't even loop.
This game isn't in maint. mode but it sure feels like it is.
Sure, but the 'content' we get all just pander to single-player get it and never login for another year playstyle. That's the issue. So it might be good single-player content (it's not), but it's not good MMO content and definitely doesn't come close to rivaling other live service games these days. SE has fallen way behind and need to look around, they look dead compared to the others. Don't need FOMO to have fun, but you certainly need to have content that lasts longer than an hour. So, you're trying to pass off personal opinion as if it's fact? My opinion?
