Tbh, a 36 min clear on a ShB Ex with a PUG, on roulette no less, sounds like pretty good going.
WHM / BLM / SMN / NIN/ DNC / Omnicrafter and Gatherer
I was doing Vigil (hard), and the dragoon on our team was drunk. he started saying that he loved us all. he asked me how to leave the party because he couldn't figure it out. he said he was lost and couldn't find the way. our paladin said he will show him the way. the dragoon started following him. we cleared. the paladin saluted the dragoon and left the instance afterwards. honestly I wasn't ready for that.

Man, most of the stories in here are depressing lately.
I got into an expert roulette where the other three party members' portraits showed their characters hiding outside of the frame. Had to do a double take for a moment. They were clearly not a premade either...
The other day, I got into the Yojimbo trial. I hadn't seen it in years. Half the party was apparently new, and one of them included a Black Mage sprout. Things happened and both healers died right before the breakable chains came out. By sheer luck, I was chained with two other party members, and the Black Mage sprout was the only DPS that was unchained. I say 'sheer luck' because I quickly realized all three of us were barely close enough to each other for the BLM to save us all in a single move. I shouted 'CASTER LB US' in chat while the BLM was happily throwing fireballs at our chains, watched as they paused for a moment, and saw the LB circle underneath our group and the meteors rained down upon us.
Sadly we still wiped afterwards, but it was epic as hell.

Today I got a Stone Vigil with a tank that either was a bot or someone that poorly comprehends the game and doesn't react to anything around them... 52 pala with ARR pala left side, ilvl ~55 green weapon and shield, level 20ish right side doing Stone Vigil for the first time (achievement at the last boss). No tank stance until somewhere around first boss. We tried communicating to no effect, the Pala wasn't also doing anything on its own - if we moved to mobs he moved as well if not he was around us as if moving between characters.
At first boss, he was constantly rotating the boss, as if running towards the closest player in the team which ended in a wipe. On the second attempt, he still turned the boss but we were ready. On the subsequent trash, we tried to check if it was a bot or not and I have no idea... when we moved back behind a corner he then just went to a side room to a chest. We tried to go through the fake door - he was trying as well or standing or moving back and forth between us
On the last two bosses - he tried to move alongside AoE path not outside of it that much - like he would move along the paths of tornadoes and along the white AoE line at the last boss (and failing to get out of it in time).
Good job from the BLM when he realised.Man, most of the stories in here are depressing lately.

I remember the first time I did it, it took twenty five minutes. We wiped three or four times because DPS didn't coordinate at all during the chains, didn't free the healers first on one run, and on another, I (as GNB) was the only one to be broken free. In the end, the other tank stepped up to main while I placed the target markers on each chain to free us all in sequence. They STILL didn't do it even with the numbers! In the end, after a bit of a snippiness from both me and the other tank losing our patience, they got both healers out and they combat rezzed us.
I checked the date I did it on because I complained to my partner about it at the time. April the First... I must have been getting pranked.
Next time I did it, it went much more smoothly.

Why is it that whenever I queue into alliance raids and I get a tank that says they're bad at tanking or they don't know the raid, it's always the same exact tank that sits there provoking each main boss.
Just let the one of the two other tanks deal with it. It's not like neither of them are willing to MT considering you're trying to provoke the bosses off them.
I've seen this happen literally every alliance raid I've done this week too, from CT to Aglaia and Euphrosyne, and it's actually starting to annoy me a little bit.
The tank role tends to attract the egotistical "I am the main character" types. Why is it that whenever I queue into alliance raids and I get a tank that says they're bad at tanking or they don't know the raid, it's always the same exact tank that sits there provoking each main boss.

Of course these types can be found in every role, but it is prevalent among tanks.
Yeah but it's super weird because these same people are having literal meltdowns in the chat when we first enter the duty and constantly over apologizing before we even begin because apparently according to themselves, they're not very good tanks and/or they've never done the duty or literally anything else.
How do you go from having such a lack of confidence to sitting there trying to voke the boss from someone else that clearly knows what they're doing? It's like a complete 180.
Maybe these tanks use Provoke like any other oGCD.Yeah but it's super weird because these same people are having literal meltdowns in the chat when we first enter the duty and constantly over apologizing before we even begin because apparently according to themselves, they're not very good tanks and/or they've never done the duty or literally anything else.

They see it as part of their rotation and it is their duty as a tank to keep that on CD.
Many player are not able to read and just do these think because they think they have to.
*Stupid mode on*
BECAUSE TANK STUFF HAVE CAPE/LONG CLOTHES BEHIND ! AM A SUPA HERO !
*Stupid mode off*
I don't understand that kind of behavior tho... I mean, who cares what they play anyway ? This is just a game after all
