The problem isn't Yoshi. It's resources allocated to this game. Their main focus is on FF XVI. They don't even have enough budget for making new dungeon gear, or make it dyable. Innovation won't happen until the focus returns to FF XIV (if ever).

It won't. There's no reason for it to.
The people on this game have set the bar sooooooo low. The community does so much for this game in comparison to what the developers do. The community is the one that really keeps the game going.
Why should SE put more resources into the game when so many people are happy with the status quo as it is now? They get a consistent source of revenue that requires little upkeep, and what they earn from that source gets to easily be put into other places as they search for something new.
You mean Materia, the datacenter on life support ?
Dynamis was a good addition but is mainly used for housing purposes, for actual activities most people go on the old datacenters, not all but most, because of shorter queues and more parties available.
A good start would be to remove Materia and to put those ressources somewhere else.
