But that's the OP, they didn't ditch a group. They just AFKed in something they were in solo and unsynced. What's the point in the penalty if it doesn't lock you out of all queueable content? It's intended as a punishment, essentially the equivalent of being grounded. Being able to ditch on a group then turn right around and do a couple unsynced runs until your timer falls off defeats the entire point.
Mortal Fist
If that's really a thing that happens, then that part of the system is dumb, but I don't think it's intentional. I think that's more something attached to the game's queueing system in general, something they apparently couldn't be bothered to remove when they added unsynced as an option.
Or maybe they just don't like people "wasting" instance servers?

It already doesn't
The OP is talking about leaving a multi-person dungeon, getting a penalty, and then not being able to participate in anything that requires an instance for 30 minutes. That's as it should be. Doing anything unsync solo and bailing does not incur a penalty.

A lot of people need to learn to read...
They are talking about LEAVING A DUNGEON and THEN finding out that abandoning OTHER PLAYERS penalizes EVERYTHING in Duty Finder, which is 100% fine. You need punishied for inconviencing other people. The 30min timer is a joke anyways. When I get it, I legit go do whatever I had to do and by the time I get back it's either gone or there's a few minutes left on it.What I'm talking about is god forbid somebody has to leave in the middle of a dungeon because something comes up, then after they've taken care of their business, 10minutes later they can't queue for Deep dungeon, battle parlor, leap of faith, solo dungeons, old content. This is ridiculous
