Agreed. We’re all busy playing other games and trying to enjoy life. We don’t want to be forced to play this game. And besides, we have tons of optional side content. There’s tons of mods, RP venues, fetishes to roleplay as, debates in Ul’dah shout chat, AND you can use FFXIV as a screensaver.

It’s a good thing they fixed that then. The rest of the community is fine with the game as-is. Endwalker is a whopping 10 points higher on Metacritic and it doesn’t have a relic grind.

Besides, I thought we liked Hildibrand? Don’t we all think this is funny? Look, he’s in the ground again! LOL

It comes down to "what is content"?

I still have so much in this game to do, a lot of it centered around long grinds and farming achievements, but I understand that not everyone wants to do pointless grinds for glittery things.

I finally cleared Baldesian Arsenal last night. I just finished some four year old content, woo! Oh wait I'm not finished, since I still haven't actually finished a Eureka weapon yet. Time to throw myself back into that same four year old content and do it again.

I understand that some folks only view current level content as worth doing, but with such an enormous backlog of achievements to work through, I can see why SE doesn't view it as a problem. People who want to keep playing this game in particular will find things to do. People who don't want to do those things can play a different game.

If you've ever taken the time to explore the world of Eorzea, you'll realize that it has some really cool areas that often are just there for scenery. It would be cool to have your character randomly stumble across ancient items that you could either distribute to some kind of archaeology museum for display. As much as I hate RNG, I feel like the item randomly appearing would be the best route because it really add to the random discovery idea and would eliminate people just telling other where to camp out.

To make it even more interesting, the museum is server based so anyone could contribute. The finder of the relic would be credited for the discovery. I'd of course throw in some kind of gil reward based on the rarity of the relic and maybe some kind of exchange item for other rewards like glam, mounts, etc.

I feel like this would give players an actual reason to explore every corner of the world. I'd even go as far to maybe add some to explore mode for dungeons to get more use out of that.
May I introduced you to our Lord and savior Big Fish?

Honestly, I've just accepted the game is no longer for me and I've been exploring other options.

There's no going back on many of the changes they've made. You can simplify something or make it easier without much resistance, but making something harder than it is will result in uproar, even if the end result isn't actually harder than other games.
They have a tiny job design team, can't actually fix larger issues and server and code issues severely limit potential QoL.
They also can't get a lot of things right. Criterion is not mythic+ and it's almost dead content, while Mythic+ was a big success. Island Sanctuary is dead 2 min a day content. Expert crafts this patch flopped. The team just isn't as good at making games as they were.

But, there still seems to be a crowd of people who love the game. So I've accepted that, it was fun for me while it lasted.

Man, I'd kill for an overworld that uses the Bozja system. And the best part: walk/fly around it if you don't care like with current FATEs. Reuse every boss if you have to. A lot would be fun with more damage/HP.

Introduce the relic grind at X.1 patches, it's ridiculous they're released later than that. It gives people something to do during downtimes.

I'd also say release BLU earlier in the patches but that's just a selfish request.

Sucks to hear this. Hope you can find enjoyment where ever you land.

7.0 Patch notes are going to be my make or (probable) break.

Relic is always easy for step 1 with little to grind. They would have to forego any kind of quest dialogue if it were introduced that early in the expansion or should they delay the expansion and effectively shift the quiet time for a handful of people?
