That doesn't really wash. When they shut it off for the hurricanes in the US, all of the data centres were shut off. When the Ukraine conflict started, all of the data centres were shut off. A few more instances as well.

You're working off the assumption that players don't play on data centers outside their region of residence.

That's not true. Many players play outside their region of residence.

As players, we don't have those numbers. SE does however. It's not going to take much to run a report of accounts that have an address in the affected areas then see where those accounts have characters and if those characters have houses.

Likely the players residing in Turkey and Syria have their characters concentrated on the EU worlds with very few if any on worlds in the other regions so they chose to only disable it for the EU worlds.

No, actually I'm not working off the assumption that players don't play on data centres outside of region of residence. SE doesn't allow accounts to change regions so I'm currently stuck in a region that I no longer physically live in anymore. For all we know, some of those players in southern Turkey and Syria, could be playing on OCE or JP because those servers aren't so far from those countries either. SE turned on auto-demo for the entire player base when the hurricanes hit the southern States and and when Ukraine was being invaded.

Not saying it isn’t sad what’s happening but might aswell make housing never subject to demolition if you’re going to activate it for every IRL catastrophy, since it’s always bound to happen.

Activating it just to stop it again feels terrible.

PaalHenrik is right they know where you’re from so targeting every Turkey house owner shouldn’t be that complicated.
