Housing Demolition Suspended!

While both situations are rather unfortunate, I think the blame is in the incorrect place. SE should be adding more wards, but the majority of current wards are mostly for FCs. Trying to accommodate both FCs and private buyers just doesn't help the situation in the long run, especially when FC's who have housing are being traded away for RMT and gil.

There's also this issue of many FCs holding multiple houses due to the older system. Why isn't SE demolishing those houses? It's punishing the playerbase. I think it's the correct choice to pause demolition on Chaos/Light until things become better.

What they should be doing is dividing the wards in "tabs" I guess, where one is only for private buyers and another only for FCs.

I understand why they don't tbh - it would not be fair to take away something due to retroactive changes in the rules. A terrible precedent to set, and as much as it sucks for the servers with those older wards, I would really rather there not be a pattern created where they change a system and take things away from people who don't really apply under the new changes.

So don't? Leave the wards as they are but instead of adding more every once in a blue moon, work towards a long term solution like instanced housing. They've done literally nothing to alleviate a system that was never designed to handle the massive demand housing has.

You mean the same instanced housing that would literally help NOTHING as people would still want ward housing anyway as long as it exists ?

The only solution is to add more wards and more availability, not instanced housing.

If it is only for Chaos and Light thats fine because they are most likely affected by the earthquake. No need to suspend demolition for everywhere else.

I agree. Having it turned off for the past year was a bit long, however the recent earthquake has caused 20000 deaths and unimaginable suffering so it is absolutely the right choice to turn off auto demo temporarily. Most EU worlds also went multiple cycles with 0 bid personals so it's not like we need more.

Who gave you the authority to speak for everyone playing the game? I'm sure most people would be perfectly fine without their house being in the wards if it meant they'd have easy access to housing and any house size they could afford, with the option to upgrade at will. The wards are barren and pointless. For all we know they could give instanced plots their own small private beach and/or whatever else to make it more comfy, they could even let you customize your own small island. Not like that'd ever happen but it's something that would completely shit over the current ward system.

Not an assumption, but a fact. There was a whole subreddit for FC trading before they moved to discord server only. It's not a hard find either, just use google.

The wards are not barren and pointless, there's a lot of people that have friends or family as neighbors, some even met their friends from housing after a relocation, I had the same for example I met a group of multiple friends from the same FC right after relocating to a different plot. Some are barren , not all.

Also I can pretty safely say that as long as ward housing exists, people wont be happy with instanced housing, it aint authority, its logic. Instanced housing would basically be second class housing, it would change absolutely nothing.

I suspect that current home owners would find it quite punishing if a shift to instanced housing resulted in their current furniture setup being disassembled, as currently happens when you move from one house to another even if the layout is the same.
