I'm hoping by then they'll have ironed out the hair issue completely so we don't see a repeat of previous issues.

Though I agree btw. Enthusiasm aside, only really make a decision to play female hrothgar when the designs have been unveiled.

'-' nah, don't go that far. Besides, I'm sure plenty of people will throw a fit if the design isn't at least appealing. It certainly won't be for everyone, but... hopefully whichever camp "loses" will have at least something to enjoy. Even if it's just visuals.

I sort of envy the Viera on this aspect. Males for sure were divisive, but at least there isn't much you could go wrong with the design: they're humans with rabbit ears, the rest comes with how the design is laid out for Viera like slender builds and jovial\softer faces.
With Hrothgar, even if we have a Ronso model for a female one, they're technically already straying from the original design as it is. Whatever they choose to do isn't going to be the most predictable thing.

Oh and how will their hairstyles look?

If I could choose, some will be straight long and flowy, some will be puffy and some will be more intricate (like a giant messy braid that goes all the way down to the hips).

I am thinking of the drawing one of FFXIV's artists did with the veil and think that would look cool too.

Also, might be a bit much but a "bald" option would be interesting for people who just want to be a lioness.

I'm still hoping for "bald with unique headdresses instead of hair" because that's what makes sense for a lion race, and seems to be what is shown in the Bozjan murals.
