Nothing, they just came here hoping to make people mad. Guess there was nothing better on TV today, oh well...
Still holding my hopes up for female Hrothgar, hope they look just as cute and feral as the Males do!

Churro xD it wasn't toward you.I mean, I play au ra, and it is my most played even after all the fantasias, but I wouldn't really call myself a "scaly". I do like dragon races though, even the WoW one is pretty cool - I really like the humanlike form. In D&D I also like draconic bloodline sorcerer, so it is overall an aesthetic I like, but I still have never played something like an argonian or something (they are ugly).
Let me put it this way.
To be a furry you either need to be engrossed in it (not necessarily in a seggsy way, but rather just engaging in the fandom overall, like art or the stuff aimed toward the fandom like specific games and such), or you need to label yourself as one. It's not going to be one game that will suddenly make you a furry. If you play Hrothgar here but play boring bland humanoid literally everywhere else, you're not a furry. You just happened to like Hrothgar.
That's reflective of several people in FF14, including the forums themselves o: A LOT of people in this thread play or like Hrothgar but don't necessarily care about identifying themselves as a furry or want to engage with furry-related stuff for the fact that there are furries in it.
And constantly assuming that that's what people do, like certain people have done, is really harmful. Not just for people in the furry fandom who keep being used as a slur. But also for people who aren't a part of that, who will feel like they can't enjoy what they enjoy because of slurs.
The scaly comment? That's not even true. Au Ra are not lizardfolk, they just have scales on their skin. They're human, and that's a gigantic portion of their in-game identity, as people from Ishgard have confused them for dragonborn and began persecuting and executing them for looks alone.
To be a scaly, you need to be a reptile of some sort, be it real or fantastical like a dragon. Au Ra are not it. Yet if dwodmots is going to come in here and accuse everyone of being a furry for playing one of two "out there" races in the game (the other being lalafell, the rest are humans with different proportions and appendages), then by her own logic, she is a scaly. And several people who also don't know any better do look at Au Ra and call them scaly all the time.
Does it mean it's right for me to call someone a scaly when I do know better? No. But if you're going to come here and stir crap just to bother people for playing and caring about one race, then you're opening yourself up for equally low blows. If you don't like being called a scaly and being compared to the rest of the furry fandom, leave people be.
Otherwise? lmao no, Au Ra are just as furry as Miqo'te are. And that's barely, if any at all xD
Just... people need to stop using Furry as a slur. Furries have done so much more good than I've seen the FF community do. I've seen them get houses for people, help people with disabilities and with medical bills. I've seen artists go from being in need to having their expenses covered just because furries started commissioning them after knowing their problems. I haven't seen the FF14 community lift a finger to help anyone. What I have seen were people denying the right to a disability. Yay us.

The people using it as a slur are very often the type of people who get enraged for anybody actively liking something they don't. The kind who scream whenever the slightest hint of anything outside of the norm shows up. You know...fragile snowflakes.Just... people need to stop using Furry as a slur. I didn’t knew about the furry thing before coming to this thread because I just find Hrothgars pretty cool and kind of adorable.
The word furry came on this thread solely because some rude people like the one a few posts before came here to freely insult Hrothgars players :/
So yes, those noble and cute Hrothgars well deserve their female counterparts!
That's the typical Karen isn't it? xD The ones on TV that throw a hissy fit because one person unrelated to them bought a chocolate cake and they happen to have opinions about it.

So yes, those noble and cute Hrothgars well deserve their female counterparts!I'm a furry, it really doesn't insult me. But yeah you're exactly right, I think it shouldn't be used as a slur. Because it's only going to insult people who aren't a furry, and it's going to make furries who aren't on the "weirder" side of the internet feel bad for being associated to the fandom.
Labelling people stuff they are not is a problem, regardless what the label may be if your intention isn't to be pleasant :T
Exactly! It was an opportunity for me to discover the furry community but this is why I’m shocked seeing that word used as a slur ! This is a shame it wasn’t brought up in a more positive way than just to annoy Hrothgars players. If the above au ra poster thinks to be call a furry is insulting, he’s the one with a bias here and it’s not cool. At all. That's the typical Karen isn't it? xD The ones on TV that throw a hissy fit because one person unrelated to them bought a chocolate cake and they happen to have opinions about it.

Let people enjoy the races they love and regroup into communities who can help people and make someone’s life better, just like admirable behaviours you stated above !
(Sry English isn’t my main language and it’s late here, I hope I’m understandable!)
Instead of adding female hrothgar to the game, they should instead delete male hrothgars. Hrothgar were a mistake.
#deletehrothgar
I don't get the gratuitous hostily tbh.
Unfortunately I can't say Hrothgar players (and furries since we were just talking about it) aren't used to it.
They're on my ignore list, so whatever Awesome said is likely to be about as relevant as a BLM's Scathe button. Just ignore them, they're a known troll with nothing better to do.
