So... class guides (The Balance) are banned? Websites where you can find glamour inspiration with items (Eorzea Collection (Western Community)/Mirapri (Japanese community)? You know, things that make use of the game's own publicly available tooltip database/API? Websites where you share crafting macros? Kupo Bot on Discord that pulls data off the lodestone?

All of these, with the exception of the API itself is third party, and released by John Godknowswhat.

I don't, whoever is using it is breaking the terms of service, theres absolutely no valid reason in the world to break the tos.

It's been a long time since I plugged in my phat ps2 with the network adapter and the hard drive, one of these days I'll dust it off and see if it still works. Yes I do know FFXI doesn't since the service for PS2 was long discontinued.

No. I'm saying that calling other people a "pu***", as you did, certainly is discrimination based off gender. There are also other things within the list of Prohibited Activities it could fall under. When you point your finger at others, four point back at you.

He link to those posts to state that he never approved the use of third party addons, just in case someone like you would go and try to say, 4 years ago or whatever you were saying that he could use ACT, you can't.
And since the time where he considered ACT a grey area, he's stance changed to all addons are prohibited and not endorsed in any way shape or form by square enix or it's Devs.

Patch 5.2's live letter series is not 4 years ago. It's just over 2. It would be something else if I referred back to this quote from 2013 regarding GShade:

Also. I never said you could go and use ACT, I said YoshiP called it a grey area, because of the nature of it being essentially an overgrown calculator. And that was the point of that entire clip. He wanted to be nuanced in his response, and he certainly want. I'm not gonna be the person that's dangled an inch in front of to eat the entire torso. The point of the clip was to highlight how difficult it was for them to come with an one-size-fits-all definition of a third party tool.

Don't get me wrong, I am not in favour of third-party tools. Well. Mostly. The Open Source software nerd inside me is all for it, but I also realize in a multiplayer game, that tends to not mix well. And that's why I keep coming back to my statement that third party tools in this game is a service problem, generally.

Yes, there are points of outright cheating, where most people would agree it's cheating. That being said, I would also say most people aren't interested in cheating. They just want the creature comforts that the game doesn't provide on its own. Party buff timers, which were eventually added into the game, is a prime example of this.
