So sorry to hear about your disillusionment with the game.

Is this a "I'm going to stop playing" thread, or a "please do better" thread, or the ever popular "I just want to get my 15 minutes of fame" thread?

Personally, I do not look for Great Literature in a video game, but having played through the current story line a few times, I find it no worse than any other expansion, better than <insert favorite expansion here> and the inspiration for the longest thread I've encountered in the past few years (yes, even longer than the complaint about the lack of male Viera) that is now, what, in the 700+ pages for comments. I will admit that I stopped reading that thread around the point the original poster provided their version of Garlean fan fiction as what "should have been the story".

Definitely a "please do better" thread. Something more along the line of Stormblood, which I loved. In fact, I think I will replay Stormblood just to get the bad taste out of my mouth!

Depressing, makes no sense, and just not fun. I prefer to play a game that is actually fun.

It's supposed to be depressing though. It's supposed to get you into a mind set of how it feels like there is no hope. I mean you literally go and fight the embodiment of despair at the far reaches of space. Now, that's not to say you can't pepper in some light hearted moments as sometimes you need to be reminded that you can still find a ray of sunshine even what might feel like your darkest hour. What about Stormblood makes you feel It's better or less depressing? As many find war and the harshness one can find there just as depressing as seeing a child be turned into a foul beast only to be stomped to death a few seconds later by different beast. You're not really giving us much to go on as to what you felt were the non fun parts.

Every expansion has so far gone for essentially a very different thing, so yeah, it makes sense that someone who loved Stormblood wasn't a big fan of Endwalker; they're entirely different stories that appeal in different ways.

That doesn't mean Endwalker is bad, and you're not really providing any actual discussion points so I'm not inclined to listen to you any further.

That's your provocative, but just because you didn't like it doesn't mean it sucks. It's okay to not like something, but just be wary posting a one-note thread is going to have backlash from people who do like and enjoy the story. That's just how stories are. Entirely subjective. Stormblood was the weakest of all expansions for me and the worst, so...

Its actually my second favourites expansion, just behind Shadowbringers. I love its themes of hope and loss, characters like Venat and the story which took us to beautiful zones like Garlemald and the friking moon! Each to their own though, would be boring if we all agreed on what we liked. I do hope the comment about Stormblood is genuine. It may not be perfect but its a lot better then people give it credit for. Think I count it just above Heavensward actually.

I mean, I agree with that statement 100% though it surprises me when people say that because… especially compared to elsewhere, criticising Endwalker seems to be an accepted practise on these forums. Sure many disagree, but there are plenty here who dislike/venomously hate it. Cannot say I have seen anywhere else have people cite the Genocide Convention of genocide to critize the game or a character.
