Well before such a lazy claim; show me the noise in the theory? Or are you just a fan of this archtypical lazy talking point. We have data we can observe. People love to make claims without backing them up...check your housing wards; heck your on Coeurl.

I left SWTOR off the list because I am not familiar with its housing system; I do not talk about things I am not familiar with; a practice many folks on here should embrace. EO is the last listed but in your rush to sweep reality under the rug I suppose you overlooked it on your gimme gimme crusade.

It is when your talking about persistent income and the infrastructure required to maintain it. Subs keeping the lights on as opposed to feeding on whales. Convincing a player to maintain a sub means the player is committed to that title and is "assured" business. Thus why F2P is relevant as FF 14 is not a F2P game when we are speaking of housing.

I logged onto my RIFT account in the weeks just before Endwalker's release and just to be certain logged in again just a few minutes ago (always nice to see my Dimensions still there after so many years of not being a paying customer). What closed in 2019 was their attempt at a "classic" progression server for the game. Not that I'm going to recommend RIFT as a game to play at this point. Gamigo is terrible with the way they operate their games. But it's still a good example of what can be achieved with an instanced housing system and how it avoids the problems we get with a ward system.
Good catch - pulled the dates skimming the wiki there those and got the PRIME mixed up.

Honestly though there is still housing left unclaimed - so the statement of there being no housing is still false at this point; its that everyone wants the last house so they can be over and done with it. I think there needs to be some tweaks to the ward system and deffinetly the lotto system - waiting about a week to determine whats next I think grinds a lot of folks down at this point. Also Relocation causes some issues at this point as I was pondering how a FC can relo out of the FC only ward into the hybrid wards.
