I think one of the reasons why they prefer not to is such game guard tools usually get detected as malicious programs by antivirus. So they need to provide additional supports on how to whitelist xiv in antiviruses for the customers ON TOP of having to spend development resources in building and maintaining such a tool.

Considering how most players in this game dont do high end contents and theres no esports for it, the cost of adding it outweighs the benefits of catching several baddies who would get banned if they participate in World First clears anyway since it is often recorded as a proof.

Yeah. I had someone randomly parse me back in HW and I had no knowledge of it until someone I know pointed it out what was probably days later. Just some random person apparently curious about my damage or something. Who knows. Wouldn't surprise me if I've been randomly parsed on more than one occasion through the years. Welp, guess that means I deserve a ban despite not consenting, using or even knowing about it happening.

Some people have ACT open and just bulk upload everything that they did for that day. It's not done against any specific person and most people thinking they get target will be wrong about that. In truth most people having ACT open dont actually care. At most they will vent to their friends on discord but afterwards they will simply forget they have ever interacted with you.

I don't think anyone will be targetted or is fearful of being targetted for it. Square knows that that's a thing. And having parsers around was never ground for people being banned whatsoever.

As much as people try to deny it just because Yoshida said "All third party tools are banned"... he kept saying this so often. Yet you don't hear people uploading those parses (because that information is likely available on fflogs anyway) being banned or reported for it. You only hear repercussions when those tools are used improperly, such as getting an upper edge in combat (cheating) or when someone is using parses to shame or ostracize players (harassment).

Anyone who says they'll report people for knowing of parses or even having parses on fflogs altogether will find their reports to be of very little substance. Square has a loose TOS, but they don't act on small fry. They go after those two scenarios I listed because those can actually do more harm than violations of privacy.

Ignore all the deranged corporate overlord conspiracy spy takes. The basic issue is that these systems don't work, never have, not just in FF14 but in any game that isn't run on proprietary systems. Its a false sense of security and total waste that takes up otherwise more useful processor time/developer time.
