Because we've seen them implement stuff and the reaction be poor, a lot of which could have been avoided if they had just stopped and gauged what the people interested in playing their content actually wanted.

Well to be fair I think it's much easier said than done to gauge what an extremely large and diverse community wants. Even if you pare it down to only the people interested in one type of content you're going to get many different opinions on what the right course of action is. Even in this very thread you have some players who want Hrothgals to be jacked and some who want them to be very feminine and everything in between.

I certainly don't envy the devs having to sort through all the wildly different feedback and come to a consensus, especially considering online feedback is only a small fraction of the player base to begin with. It's sort of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. But I guess we'll see how things turned out in a few months. Personally I'm rooting for something like that Hrothgal art by Maho.

Yeah. I mean. I'm in the same camp, I much prefer Maho's style and I think that's what most people in this thread have stated their support for. Issue is, that's confirmation bias, so actually gauging the community is a coinflip.

+1 for that! Maho's art is amazing and my hope for female Hrothgar (love the new RPR they drew!).

And this is mostly anecdotal, but from my research on the toppic around Twitter, the forums, a few in-game conversations and Reddit, a majority of people seem to like Maho's interpretation too. Or at least describe something similar.

But truth be told I do expect them to be a bit more on the fierce side and not as muscular as Roe females. The lore clearly states that Roes are the tallest and most rugged race on Hydelin.

Maho's art is so good that i really don't want anything too different from that. I know we probably won't have really big hairstyle like in their arts, but i hope we'll get more long racial hair than short one, considering how many of these are already in game.
