warframe mentionedWe should have a system readily accessible and available to anyone who wants a house of any size, and without limits on availability. It's pretty sad when games like Warframe (and many other f2p games) have a better housing system than we do here. The player base needs to stop settling for mediocrity, in my opinion. Push, and push hard, for real change.
It is sad. There's a lot of things that are in this MMO, but this kind of tops the list to me. It's definitely a glaring enough issue that they should be talking about it during live letters rather than throwing out a few wards every 6 months.
yeah, i'll give him the wrap. but foist, i gotta wrap this FISH.
Convert all wards to FC wards since they game and exploit the housing system anyways.
Allow all players to purchase an instanced small/med/large housing plot depending on budget.
Very simple easy fix!!!

I really don't think that the solution necessitates shutting out a lot of people. Both systems can definitely coexist alongside each other. I'm behind instanced housing, but I think anything else will just kind of piss off people who currently have one. It might be more conducive to suggest that the company workshop shouldn't be tied to housing, and instead, the GC area; since its where you perform other FC actions and things like that.Convert all wards to FC wards since they game and exploit the housing system anyways.

It boggles my mind some of the things being said in this thread, attacking other players who are just frustrated with an awful situation instead of attacking the crappy system we're forced to deal with.
"If you REALLY want a house, just DC transfer! You can just DC travel to play with your friends anyways! If you're not willing to do this you have no room to complain about the system."
Cool, problems with this: Maybe someone is very invested in their FC for whatever reason, that attachment is valid and shouldn't be asked to be thrown away. DC hopping is a PITA and is going to get real old real fast, meaning your friends/target audience for your house, at no fault of their own, are going to not want to come visit more than a few times. If you're an RPer and you're setting your house up for something RP related for people on the DC you left, you're now inconveniencing however many people that is because they now have to DC travel. Absolutely screw that. You should not be expected to make a huge decision like DC transferring in order to access part of the game. Straight up. No amount of defending your choice to make this awful decision is going to suddenly make it an okay option, nor should you be telling people "if you're not willing to do this then you don't really want a house/you have no room to complain".
"If you don't have a house by now you're doing something wrong or you don't really want one."
Really? Interests change. Priorities shift. What kind of crappy take is this? Maybe someone wasn't interested in housing before for whatever reason (placard system was garbage, no interest in that aspect of the game, etc), thus never bothered trying to get one, but discovered something that caught their interest. Them being frustrated by the housing situation now that they DO want a house isn't invalidated because they haven't always been trying to get one, nor is it wrong of them to wish for a better system than what we have.

Isn't the truest problem that every plot isn't large on prime location?
I am not dumb, I see those people demanding new wards right now or they hold their breath till they pass out after they lose the lottery on their dream large, the only plot they will ever accept.
I got small plot just fine week before the new wards were released.
It was small and in horrible location. But it, too, is a housing plot.
Actually the truest problem is that there's just not enough supply to meet the demand on a lot of servers.Isn't the truest problem that every plot isn't large on prime location?

I understand the logic behind "go for what you can guarantee and then try to upgrade later". It's CLEARLY the logical choice. However, the issue here is, on the more populated servers, the current period of time is the best time to bid on mediums (lol larges). If you don't get a medium now, it's only going to become drastically harder as time goes on. The mediums dry up or become scarce, suddenly those 3-5 people bidding on them become 20+. Yes, definitely go with the small and try to upgrade, but it's completely understandable why people would want to try for mediums right now.

It might also get drastically harder to get anything later on. If you lost the chance of getting a medium on first round, secure a small in the second.Actually the truest problem is that there's just not enough supply to meet the demand on a lot of servers.

Gotta say, for a culture that keeps to itself and overall prefers solitude, forcing and spending resources on neighbourhoods instead of instanced homes makes zero sense to me.
At this point it feels more like “I chose this hill and Ill die on it” kind of situation.
Yes, as I said I don't disagree, just explaining one of the reasons why so many people are going for non-smalls right now.
Part of the issue is YoshiP had a vision for how he saw housing wards (these populated areas that are active and you always see people running around and being neighbors and whatnot). While a cute/neat vision in and of itself, with no real reason for people to really be outside in the wards outside of running to a marketboard before running back inside or doing something in your yard, this vision was destined to fail because this community ranges from vastly non-social with strangers to hanging out and/or afking in the most convenient locations (which housing wards are not).Gotta say, for a culture that keeps to itself and overall prefers solitude, forcing and spending resources on neighbourhoods instead of instanced homes makes zero sense to me.
