I wasnt meant to quote the post actually, sorry about that, was meant as a comment in general to you and not as a response to the post
Whether it was to that one comment of mine or not, literally not one thing that I have posted suggests that I don't understand how FCFS works. I simply have a different opinion than you which you seem to have a lot of difficulty accepting.
Regardless of our opinions though--they will not implement a FCFS system. Ever. SE has made it (very) clear that they value players having a life/game balance and not having to be subbed at all times or online at all times. That's why the patch cycle exists as it does. This is literally what Yoshi has said time and time again. So they will never (ever) implement a system where you must be online EXACTLY when a house becomes available in order to be in the running to purchase one.
Based on what SE has said (with their own words, on record) regarding how they want people to approach and play FFXIV the lottery system will be the system if/until instanced housing becomes a reality.
Now you can either recognize that, or continue to stalk this thread obsessively and argue with people over it.
Your argument is proven wrong by the fact you need a subscription to keep your house or it gets demolished.Whether it was to that one comment of mine or not, literally not one thing that I have posted suggests that I don't understand how FCFS works. Being #3 out of 4 I finally won the house I've wanted since Heavensward: a personal Ishgard medium. I still wish we would've had FCFS-type immediate purchase in the new wards and the initial Empyreum launch. I could've had this house for almost a year by now. Hopefully everyone who asked for this lottery bs enjoys the weekly cycle. I'm out! It's great to never have to worry about it again. Well, unless they release Sharlayan housing in which case I'll see you at the placards in around 3 years.![]()

Lost yet again this morning. It's been 3 years... For a small house. I just want to participate in outdoor housing items.
I mean, no offense but if you havent gotten a house in 3 years I'd start questioning if I'm not doing something wrong
That also, there is no point in that walk of shame, remove it.
Having to go get your gil back to the plot you just lost as the person is literally decorating is just not good
all I want is the ability to reclaim my gil from the fucking Timers menu, Yoshida.
And yet they want this system to include the 'walk of shame.'
Asinine.
at this point I'm even wondering is it even true RNG or a roulette? maybe I'm unlucky but every time the bids get above 15+ its never the high or low numbers that win, its usually in the median.
I'm probably wrong though.
The lottery system is absolute trash. Bought a small house in the goblet on the old system, held off on using the relocate feature because of rumors of ishgard housing and didn't have the funds to relocate multiple times at the time.
Then they removed the relocate feature, fcfs on new wards, and replaced it with such a "great" system.
Failed to upgrade my house five times to a large. My mistake for not creating shell FCs and using alts to bid multiple times on a plot. Truly fair system we have here

I really don't get this mentality. I mean yeah, there have been and kind of still are some options to increase your chances of getting a house, but they're all just workarounds for the poorly designed housing system. And all of those 'options' also have draw backs that negatively impact some people more than others, which makes them worse than just going without a house for some people.
I've been playing almost 5 years and still haven't been able to get a house. Yeah there's definitely things I could have done to increase my chances, but all of those options would have left me worse off, and still wouldn't have guaranteed that I'd even have gotten a house.
The artificial scarcity caused by the lack of scalability of wards is the real problem.
