To be completely fair, it might have been more beneficial to pop it after you had stopped pulling, because they couldn't have used Holy much on the move. Unless a tank is super squishy, I don't see a need for defensive CDs mid pull. After coming to a stop, sure, that is pretty much expected. That also gives your healer more room to breathe so that they may do some damage. If I'm misunderstanding the situation, I apologize, but this is what it sounds like to me.

I was thinking the same. Unless somethings gone wrong, popping mits during the pull is wasting them, and when I'm healing I'd probably have a little thing in my head going "save that for when you need it", its kinda like dropping a benediction on a tank when their health is at 80%.

Not using Holy and using Cure 1 is all fair comment though.

On the other hand using holy and hallowed is conterproductive because you're either wasting stun or invuln.

So apparently I caused a healer in Mt Gulg to raise an eyebrow because I dared to start some trash pulls with hallowed. How dare I give them an opportunity to do damage with an invuln whose only downside is its long cooldown.

They also are probably why the dungeon felt marginally longer because they did not holy very much in trash pulls.

Holy is only so effective for so long. The stun lasts 5, 3 and then 1 seconds before it's no good anymore. Using Cure 1 isn't the end of the world. Sometimes, you don't need much. However, if they're casting it a lot, your DPS probably isn't high enough to put down all those mobs you pulled and every other heal is on cooldown. Gulg can be rough if everyone's not in the best gear or level 80.

When running as a PLD with a WHM, I usually eyed the WHM before popping my Hallowed. If they're not the aggressive holy spammer, I'll pop it earlier.

If I'm the WHM, screw it---I'm Holy'ing till I blind everything!

They're terrible WHM and should be kicked, blacklisted and reported.
Jokes aside, it's the only way to marry Holy and Hallowed: someone should step aside. And by "someone" I mean PLD. >_>

How is it counterproductive?

Holy is WHM's AOE and is a net DPS gain over... well any other option the WHM has. The 7 second stun used when the tank has stopped is a net mitigation gain, because the beginning is the most dangerous part. There are few, if any, pulls that will require a stun after the pack has been thinned. Even if there were, the DPS loss and mitigation loss of not using Holy would work out at as a net loss.

In other words, always use Holy, its a gain no matter how you cut it.
