I think Bards are awesome...not just a FF mainstay but also a common fantasy element back to D&D. BRD is actually my 2nd favorite job... PLD > BRD > SMN > ..don't really know after that, probably BLU.

I'll quote myself:
So now we have job stones this is easy like add more stones per class and have more equipment that is job unique. What i think they should do is make the jobs like extension of the current class. This jobs should be able to equip or not at will, it would be cool if they are linked to the weapon you are using like with the armory system. Something like this:
Gladiator (Short Sword and Shield) ---------- Paladin (Long Sword and Shield)
.....................................................|----- Blue Mage (Dual Swords)
Marauder (Great Axe) ---------- Warrior (Great Sword)
...................................|----- Dark Knight (Scythe)
Pugilist (Cesti) ----------------- Monk (Knuckles)
..................................|------ Puppet Master (Claws)
Archer (Short Bow) ------------- Bard (Shot Bow and Instrument)
...................................|------ Hunter (Long Bow) or Musketeer (Pistols)
Lancer (Spear) ------------- Dragon (Lance)
.............................|------ ??? Don't know
Conjurer (Wand) ----------- White Mage (Cane)
.............................|------ Summoner (Another tipe of staff or maybe a book/grimoire)
Thaumaturge (Scepter) ------- Black Mage (Staff)
..................................|----- Red Mage (Rapier and Shield)
Each job will have access to all the skills the base class have and will focus the stats, new skills and the gameplay to something in particular. And they can add more classes and jobs like:
Rouge (Dagger and Shield) ---------- Thieft (Dual Dagger)
..........................................|----- Ninja (Dual Katanas)
Hear me devs!
Is not exactly like i said it but we are getting there.
I'm the Princess of the Night~~
The other lancer spear class is Uhlan...
More physical attacks... no dragon moves or magic or jumping... just straight assault with a spear. Very physical and athletic... very "Warrior-like" minus the high HP and tankability
It was one of the classes in FFXII IZJS
I keep postponing FFXII IZJS. I have it all ready patch and running on 1080p with pcsx2 but i keep not making the time to play it...
Anyway the important part of the post i make back there was not the jobs itself but the method to make the transition from class to jobs.
I'm the Princess of the Night~~
Thats actually how me and most of my friends are hoping it works....
And they just added the first jobs for us to enjoy and kind of test.. and the second job for each is coming
Wouldn't mind seeing any job people want, but I think this game needs some other jobs added to fill in key gaps before dancer is added since it's XI equivalent is pretty similar to our Bard at the moment (IE it's a support DD). Of course who's to say they wouldn't alter how it worked.
But I think the jobs that would stand out the most at the moment would be Summoner, Thief, Blue Mage, Samurai, Dark Knight. I can't say they're all my personal pick for next class either, though, aside from maybe Thief/Assassin which I would really like to see. Mages feel rather under-represented at the moment, too, but I don't think a Red Mage is far enough its "own thing" from Whm and Blm for it to be next.
And what's so wrong with dancer? I mean... really... this is Final Fantasy we're talking about. It's not meant to always be taken seriously, and I find that to be part of FF's charm. Why would anyone care if dancer isn't "manly" enough for some people? The concept of dancer is fairly solid, and I applaud SE for implementing it in an MMO. It was really fun to play, and I don't see the problem with implementing it again. Can we have a job that filled the role that dancer did...a job just as useful... but not be super lame
Let me heal you with this waltz...
no...
I'd rather die....
I'd rather be saved by someone from the movie....
I'd rather ingest the cotton part of a q-tip used by John Leguizamo to clean his ears
I'd rather live in Baltimore... or worse... Detroit
I'd rather sit through every "Sex in the City" movie wearing an "I'm A Samantha" T-shirt
no...
the idea of abilities using TP to help the party is cool... very cool
That these abilities would be dances? no... not even a little bit...
SE was really just reaching for classes at that point...
yes it was in tactics.. but it was FEMALE ONLY in tactics...
Should we add tampons?
Dancer is dumb... don't think for one second that it isn't...
Would it be the first job I'd ask for? No, probably not, since I'd prefer more iconic jobs like SMN and THF to make their return first, but I would very much welcome the opportunity to play Dancer again in the future.
I'm hoping they give SMN and BST a good treatment when/if they are implemented. I tend to like pet classes the most, so that'd me wonderful to have again. I also secretly hope for PUP, which is (surprise!) not a very manly job either. Oh, but how I loved their AF... ~_^
OK... all the people that say "It's not that bad" or "It's useful"And what's so wrong with dancer? I mean... really... this is Final Fantasy we're talking about. If they added Dancer... and also added any other class that did the exact same thing (Had abilities that buffed or healed the party using TP).... then people would opt for the alternative class in a heartbeat
If it was a geomancer or atherist or something like that, and it used the energy of the planet to cast haste or heal the party... people would choose that over Dancer almost every time...
This is a good post ^^bAnd what's so wrong with dancer? I mean... really... this is Final Fantasy we're talking about. I too hope the implement BST! I want to walk around in my full sheepskin AF and feel like a badass when I can use a pet to solo an NM that most parties can't kill![]()
