If they can detect a new player and give a bonus, there's probably room to do something for first time scenes. This seems like such obvious easy solution that I just have to imagine that the game's coding is so whack that it makes it hard to encode first time player detection to trigger "unskippable cs" so they have to have the either skippable cs for all players or unskippable cs for all players like in Castrum and Prae.
I wish they would implement is so that we can finally avoid this drama
There shouldn't be any unskippable cutscenes, I don't see how they even serve a purpose other than forcing you to miss a roulette queue or something. I've never seen cutscenes cause a problem in Alliance Raids and I'm not really sure how they could. If someone is spamming chat just ignore them.
If that were true then they shouldve resolved that by now. Then again, this game has a ton of issues they shouldve addressed by now but applying unskippable cs for new players in the raid should seem like a no brainer for them to implement.
Its the best way they could go with it yet here we still are.
They can detect that if you have the auto-skip option enabled. You still see cutscenes for the 1st time, so maybe they have something to work with. This seems like such obvious easy solution that I just have to imagine that the game's coding is so whack that it makes it hard to encode first time player detection to trigger "unskippable cs" so they have to have the either skippable cs for all players or unskippable cs for all players like in Castrum and Prae.

Should they have? Did they actually get the feedback? If that were true then they shouldve resolved that by now. Then again, this game has a ton of issues they shouldve addressed by now but applying unskippable cs for new players in the raid should seem like a no brainer for them to implement.

I would be fine with making all the dungeon and alliance raid cutscenes unskippable. Most of them are only a few seconds anyway, so it's painless. But for the new players, it makes a difference in the quality of their experience and every little bit helps them keep up with the rest of us.
And then you have the longer ones, like in Thousand Maws of Toto-Rak and Stone Vigil -- I can't believe they've never done something about this, it's ridiculous. I find most groups are pretty good about waiting before the last boss of Stone Vigil, but not so much for Toto-Rak and the newbie can basically miss out on the entire fight sometimes. It's garbage.
The cutscenes that appear before the regular 8-player raids don't need to be unskippable because everybody's enclosed in that little bubble and can't pull the boss anyway, so that can stay as-is.
All this does is paint a big target on the new player's back, and give the rest of the group an incentive to kick them out of the party so they don't have to view cutscenes. Or someone will leave the group the instant they see a newcomer. And it will be the tank that leaves, who is the hardest to replace. Or they stay, but make rude remarks that first-timers shouldn't use Duty Finder because they are wasting others' time. And then kick them right before the end boss or something. That's just the cruel ideas I could cook up off the top of my head, I'm sure those types of folks can find ways to go even lower.
Quietly places Earthly Star."Saviour of Cutscenes" is something that likely doesn't exist xD
But I've been progressively more having the opposite experience. People do say "Wait for cutscenes" in the chat, but so many people either ignore it or clearly don't care and go in anyway. Often it's not even the tanks; the tanks tend to be respectful to that fault. Often it's the DPS that either use a projectile skill like Throwing Dagger, Piercing Talon or Enpi, half the time going in, pull the boss, and then come back to the entrance while hopping around.
And notice how I used melee skills rather than caster or ranged skills. It's because most of what I see are the melees going in and doing that. And while it's easy to just stop attacking, ignore the guy and reset the boss, that sort of thing no longer happens. People just sigh and go with it, with one or two people mentioning it in the chat but otherwise having no chance to stop it.
Yeah, uh, so sick and tired of these DPS pulling smh my head.

Hmm I’ve seen it. I had an mch for a wipe in normal raid roulette because I pulled during a cutscene. Was Alexander. He was top dps. Went ham on boss when 2nd one spawned then refused to touch 2nd one. It blew up, we wiped. Told me I should have waited until everyone was ready.
I’ve also accidentally walked too close to final boss in world of darkness on my white mage. The onslaught of vitriol that occurred immediately. Maybe I don’t have screen shots because I don’t let it bother me and I move on. But to outright deny people can be hateful over something so minuscule is to live within your own imagination while wearing blinders to the nature people are capable of.
