part of me is just imagining someone finding that toggle if they did that and having a reaction like that geico commercial with the attic.
"cool I can hide other ppl's glamours"

People argue with immersion. But what immersion are you talking about, when you want to display-off what the world brings to life?
I know what you mean. But when you play the story, you see the NPCs. Even most of the dungeons you can run with NPCs. There is already no big need for other players.
And how it would be 'immersion' if all cities would be filled, for example, just with people in the same default glam-off looks. Does it feel like immersion, when most people look the same way? That's boring and kinda clone-like. (at least in my opinion).
You are right, that it does not effect the other players, when someone turns of the glam. But I think it's a loss. Because also very good and well designed glam combinations would be displayed-off, too.
Maybe it would be cool to have an extra roleplay server to travel to on every DC (a server without home world option). With some restrictions and options, and the option to turn off glam in general, or from specific people, like some kind of blacklist.
But I think, that a generell option to turn off glam wouldn't be so good. : )
I get where your coming from. I think it comes down to personal preference. Already in a lot of RPGs all the non-important NPCs look very similar. Even in this game a lot if the random, non-interactable NPCs look the same. The idea people were proposing was giving you a base model for your class or race, rather than every person looking the same.People argue with immersion. I guess it's each their own, but I find it hard to believe that seeing a bunch of same faced NPC looking characters would be more immersion-breaking than a fuchsia Hrothgar in matching metallic lime green crop-top and 2B bottoms.
Besides, the feature would be toggleable. It wouldn't be an end-all-be-all. Could turn it on for story and turn it off again if you just want to be social.
bumping this thread again as being annoying is still a valid form of personal expression

Wait, SE banned this guy because of a portrait. Surely you guys are against this, right? He was just expressing himself using 'clothes' and emotes already in the game. You can just turn your head away and not look at it right?

I think its an issue. There is nothing Lewd, sexual, or TOS breaking about that, I dont think the guy deserves a ban over that. imo at least.
And also Yes, I can turn my head and look the other way. Its really not as difficult as you might try make it sound. Satire or not.
Seems SE does not agree.Yes
