I don't think that it would be a good idea to see everyone in their unglamed gear.
That would be totally boring and often would look really bad, too.

I don't get why people are upset about others people's glams. The only glam that is important, is our owns. Everything else is not our business.

If someone wears a glam that we don't like, than we should just stop to watch it more than necessary.
Furthermore glam is very often also some kind of selfexpression for a lot of people. And this part and diversity would be lost, if we would turn off all glam.

I mean, I'm not sure how many times it has to be said that it would be a toggle that is *OFF* by default. You'd have to read patch notes and/or actually go into options and dig to find it, which a lot of people probably wouldn't even realize it existed unless they *solely* wanted the feature and Googled it.
