Ya know, you can only abuse and exploit that which is abusable and exploitable. It is still only up to SE to determine the threshold for that. My take is that SE is enjoying the MSQ and job boosts of mutli housers - exploiting players drive for acquisition of more pixels is good for their bottom line. The complaints here aren't going to change the fact that multi-housers are supporting your servers more so than other players. Just something to chew on a bit.
The bottom line on why I don't care about this "problem" is because I fail to see what eliminating it will help. Several people have run the numbers and found out that getting rid of every "shell" FC in the game will be a drop in the bucket in terms of increasing the number of houses to what people actually want. Its a band aid on a broken leg. We need more wards or an instancing system.

1 - frees up houses for people to use instead of relying on more wards being added
2 - causes higher supply in new wards since you won't see RMT and sub farmers snap up entire wards on alts when new wards get dropped
3 - decreases RMT by cutting off one of the ways the gil is generated, or at least reducing how effective it is.
Adding more wards just gives the people doing this more opportunities to snap up FC houses and run subs in them. Instanced housing is a pipe dream and a copout to avoid looking at real solutions that can be implemented short to mid term in the game.
