Not the same thing. That is a performance option and accessibility option (some people can't handle flashing lights). It doesn't control other players in the same way.
Nothing seems to be the same thing for you? You get examples of similar and relevant options yet because they go against your narrative; no, not good enough. Well guess what buddy. These are valid and do the same thing or at least similar enough. Doesn’t matter their purpose, as the results have the same outcome
Is your desire to be seen that strong that you wish to actively punish someone for using a feature that does not detract anything from you. While not 1:1 think of it as a form of black listing someone, you can block their speech on your end but does not take tye ability from the other person to speak.I would go a little further with that honestly.
Those that want to not view other people's glamours get the toggle, but it removes ALL glamours from their side. So they can't even see what they glamour onto their own gear. It just toggles all player characters to be in lore appropriate job gear.
That would be a much simpler toggle to implement I believe(and I'm no programmer, so who knows), rather than making it so that only other players are affected on their screen, which would require more lines of code than:
<if job A is on screen display artifact gear for job A on sprite>, and so forth for all jobs.
Granted I understand looks and acceptance are hottopic issues and I am not blind how one could perceive this negatively especially when this may be the only space one may free to express their true self l. That said those in favor do want wish to take anything away from you, all we want is just another option to police our own experience. That is the joy of online gaming as you are free to explore and express yourself as you see fit and maybe try things you could not irl. The same should be true for the other side. Give people the tools to enhance their own personal game experience.
With the options I have set it is buggy and far from perfect it simply replaces the model of everyone. This works for me cause in my own headcannon every else are just npcs anyways.
I swear to god if this ends up being the thing they end up implementing from the forums...
Glamour without restrictions* is long overdue!
If you think so too, help keep the thread going!

Well, I'm pretty sure they already exist but yet again, you don't notice.
The "argument" is that it is already something people do, yet there are people claiming that it'll be a mass exodus or it'll ruin their game experience if it became an in-game feature, but the fact that people already can and do do it has literally no effect on them.
But good job going to an extreme. You really got me with that one.
Maybe you don't see the difference between Dev-supported features and mods that they decided are a "don't ask don't tell" functionality that should not be disclosed or used to impact other players whatsoever.Well, I'm pretty sure they already exist but yet again, you don't notice.

Anyway problem solved. Apparently you can already mod for this if you need it that badly.
Don't strawman and stick to the topic. this isn't an argument defending mods
Then why keep bringing up mods? I didn't bring them up, you did as some strange support for the use for this. My point was modders do lots of things, from DPS parses and other features that the devs decided would not be part of the game.
