Can we get the underground city? Totally bringing back some DA vibes.Basically the map is 'complete' but there's areas we've not yet explored.
The underground cities of the duskwights
The volcanic settlements of the helsguard
That permanently closed gate of north gridania :x
The inside of the mysterious Crystal thing in East LA noseca that the lore book says nobody has ever returned from the inside of
I could go on. I wanna see the places described but never visited!
embrace the beef chow mein
Yoshi stated did he ?
Well in the opening keynotes of the EU fanfest during stormblood for shadowbringers hype.
Yoshi asked the crowd where the WoL was headed.
Someone in the crowd shouted "THE MOON".
Yoshi responded to this stated we'd be going to the moon in 7.x
Here we are in 6.x
the moon
Just because he stated it doesn't make it gospel
This game is story focused things that happen have foreshadowing well in advance. From what has happened so far is possible to speculate outcomes.
you state a "hint" here
in all honesty its less of a "hint" and more of a blatant itinerary so not a hint. lolThere is also the rest of Emet's 'list' of places we just have to visit though too, which presumedly will continue to play an important role in where we go (we've already now been to the first one; 'the ruins under the Bounty' - aka Alzadaal's Legacy), so it is likely we'll eventually end up in places like Meracydia, but how we'll get there and why, well, we'll find out soon enough.
Was thinking more on this
FFXIV ARR's 10th year anniversary happens in Aug. 2023
maybe some marketing opportunity there ? with FFX to fuel the hype
It's really worth outlining that for the most part any previous things that seemed to be 'hints' at what would happen in the future are actually the other way around from what that would imply: as outright admitted by the writers, how it usually works is that they leave a bunch of random lingering plot threads without intended solutions--usually intentionally, sometimes by mistake--and then later on they decide where they actually want to go and tie things back to those leftover threads to flesh it out and give it legitimacy. The best example of it probably isn't Ishgard (which we know was planned to be a future location for the 1.0 devs who planted those seeds, so it's rather a different case), but rather the Warriors of Darkness. They weren't some far-flung called shot for where the devs would send us six years afterwards; they were just a Cool Thing that they wrote without any distinct future plans to use them, that they later realized they could do something with.
I believe Yoshi-P that there aren't any hints as to where the game's going to go next. But I know the tendencies of this game's writing team more than well enough to say that by the time we get there, they'll have done the necessary random callbacks to make it feel like it was intended the whole time.
But that 'the next expansion will be on this planet' isn't exactly a bet with long odds.
I mean that was also back when the plan was to have Endwalker be two expansions, one dealing with Garlemald and one with the Final Days. Since we know that 6.0 would end with Anima, it makes sense that 7.0 would involve going to the moon. That plans change doesn't mean it wasn't true and it certainly doesn't mean that plans will change a few months, when he stated that after Endwalker released and we're only like a patch or two after that.Yoshi stated did he ?

I believe him as well as he said in one of the live letters for 6.1. And has for 7.0 its easily a little over a year into developement their not going to make a total rewrite of its story now. Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!
I took this to be a reference to how Bozja ended with Gabranth. As the ending of Bozja gifts him with the means to continue to wage a war of conquest.Ilsabard sticks out like a sore thumb now that we have a full map of the three great continents, so I'd like to hope they intend to rectify that in the next expansion.
There's been a lot of vague somethings going on over there ever since the second civil war started, not least of which being the remaining legions who were stated as "waiting to see which way the winds blow" in the latest Tales from the Dawn.
I'm also going to hazard a guess that the other legions will disband, allowing the enscripted to return to their country of origin or return to Garlemald proper. We'll just have to wait and see.
Strictly speculation here as I think the void is possibly going to be a major story element eventually but not as a shard we visit until much later as an expansion at least. I think it won't be on a grand scale like any of the other expansions like the other shards. I think we will explore a new continent get involved in its politics and liberate the nation from those extreme politics and then fight its share of strong soldiers and monsters. Then it will slowly open up to a new shard later. I do want to see some high energy fast paced expansions like shadowbringers but I doubt any ascian caused calamities will happen now haha. I think its slow sailing until the adventurer fully immerses in regular adventure.
Honestly the idea of a seafaring expansion is kind of cool, but man, that's a whole lotta water and not a lot of land.
*thinks about the game Terranigma*
Wouldn't be the first time though, that a Japanese RPG brought forth continents that weren't there before. Tied to some sort of restoral effort by an individual. Generally involving loads of magic.

"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
Dragon Quest VII was also a classic. It would be interesting if the geographical landmasses of the Source could be altered by events happening on other Shards.
I wouldn't be surprised if we see an island/seafaring expansion soon. The South Sea Isles is one possibility, as is Aerslaent. It would be a great opportunity to bring a Corsair or Viking job into the game.
