It being an undyeable one-piece is exactly why I won't be getting it.
While I'm sure there was a valid reason for making it a single piece, I really wish this wasn't a single piece. I would even accept it being two pieces (Top being Chest/Hands & Bottom being Legs/Feet) but I'd clearly prefer it to be 3 pieces. This is the same situation as Minfilia's Attire and Lyse's Leadership Attire. I'd love for Yoshi to bring someone on to talk about this on a Live Letter.
I just don't get it TBH... why, oh why do they do this with NPC outfits? It's not like they don't know how to create separate outfits... they have the design, they have concept artwork, they probably aren't creating from scratch like they do with non-NPC attires. Why not just make them proper outfits too? Why do they have to squeeze and stretch and borrow from the actual NPC to fit characters?
Thank you for explaining! There's videos on YouTube to explain the process of porting and fitting clothes to new models if you want to literally see it.
In a nutshell though, they basically exported the garment, removed all of the parts of the jacket and (I don't know specifically what mod it is so I can only guess from here) upscaled it to a different/multiple modded bodies or refit the edited garment back to the vanilla bodies.
As far as the splitting, I'm moreso willing to guess that the outfit was originally in separate pieces (as was the case with Lyse's gown) and Square was the one who fused them into one. I can't say for sure unless someone can get a hold of Gaia's model in Eden wearing the dress and check that via a certain gpose program.
Mortal Fist
But it does have movement physics: Youtube 0:28
The front might not move (which most of the game's longer hairstyles are like) but the back is clearly rigged and has physics.
Yeah, this outfit is a symptom of a much larger issue. This player base in general has shown SE on many occasions that they have very low standards, so SE knows that they can get away with almost anything at this point and still make a profit. Until they are shown otherwise, this will continue.
TO BE FAIR, it's not just XIV or SE fans that fall for this. The modern "gamur" eats this stuff up and corporations are ready to accommodate the growing whale population. Oh well, I guess this game is really going to mirror WoW right down to it's downfall/faults, lol.Yeah, this outfit is a symptom of a much larger issue. Oh, absolutely. It's not just an SE thing. I'm just talking about this player base at the moment, which I consider to be more guilty than most nowadays. They are far more likely than a lot of player bases to roll over and take whatever SE gives them and then defend poor practices and game design as if their lives depended on it.
I'm pretty sure fortnite and other f2p garbage brings in far more money than the SE cash shop + subs + game sales combined.
