I haven't played PLD or DRG much but I've been team Halone since I started and she didn't disappoint. It was nice to have dialog about her worship. Nophica is a close second. It's really cool that she's a reaper and I've always liked Gridania. I'm looking forward to seeing Thaliak in the next part.

I love plants IRL, so I just went with Nophica. I love gardening in the game, so I'm happy. It was funny she also has orange hair and green eyes, just like my character which is how I've been making characters in RPGs for the last 20 years.

Yes because for some reason she got the least amount of attention when Aglaia was released! All I saw on social media was Byregot and Rhalgr being daddies and people mentioning Thal's balls (whatever that means), lol.

Ok, so a complete newb at the game; but I can answer the Thal's balls thing. It's based on swears from Elizabethan and Tudor times (think Shakespeare) Like God's Balls or God's Teeth.

I thought so too at first, specially when he was sweating nervously around Halone and Menphina of all people... until the last part of the quest, which makes me wonder if he's the other one

I picked Menphina because she was the goddess of the moon, and she turned out cute, with a cute voice and a cute dog, so I'm pretty pleased. I also mostly like the way they incorporated stuff from other incarnations like Tsukuyomi, though I think overall the ones in Aglaia were done better in this regard.

I'm still iffy on the whole "Western RPG style deities that no one can prove exist," but I appreciate the effort they've gone to put them in and make references to how they might have come about from the history of other deities with the same domains, rather than just trying to quietly ignore that they ever mentioned them in the first place like some other things that have been cast aside.

It's nothing. The phrase is from the early 2.0 days of the English localization team trying to make every line of dialog some edgy innuendo because they wished they were writing for Game of Thrones instead of translating a Japanese RPG. The boss has an attack with a bunch of balls by sheer coincidence, because the designers are referencing the same mechanic Hades (the then-god of the underworld) had to Thal, the current death deity, and all the English speaking players decided to meme it all up because it matched the phrase.
