Imagine if they incorporated actual playing card games in the gold saucer, and let us bet gil instead of worthless mgp that caps at 9.99m and rarely has anything worth spending it on.

They actually avoid gambling regulation by making it so we always gain or it's at least pretty neutral.
In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

Give up this dream. Let it die, and think not on it again. There is literally no chance of this happening. That is 0%. Nothing. Never. No way. As long as SE is a japanese company, with headquarters in japan and subject to japanese laws, they wont even consider this.
On topic. I liked the new course. Ive only done it a couple times, so maybe ill get sick of it. Who knows. But it was fine.
I've done it like 4 or 5 times now. I personally like it. It's not very challenging but it's a lot more punishing then the other ones.
Did want to note that I am also someone who does kugane tower for fun though![]()
It was fun, especially now when there are tons of people doing it. What can be bothersome is that it doesn't really seem to follow a clear pattern to the finish, but honestly missing a few cactuars isn't that bad. I missed a good amount and still got a good amount of MGP for completing it.
I lol'd. It's nowhere near Kugane Tower level jumping, where jumps are insanely difficult even to seasoned JP (Jumping Puzzle) players. On a scale of 1-5, with Kugane being the 5, this is more of a 3.
Its not even just a Japanese law thing, gambling is considered illegal in a lot of places even if it is virtual currency.Give up this dream. Let it die, and think not on it again. lol this is the most Official Forums forum post ever.
I finally did it today and I concentrated on just finishing it. Took me longer than normal and I didn't try to get all the cactuars.
It is really pretty though; I love the colours.
Honestly, even Kugane Tower isn't that bad once you've done it some borderline-obscene number of times. The main thing that I've seen trip people up is that Kugane Tower has the overhanging stuff -- roof ledges, etc. -- which you can bonk your head on (which will abort a jump and send you straight down), and those have wonky hitboxes. Once you've done Kugane Tower enough times, though, you know where all those are and the jumps are actually fairly trivial. It's just not intuitive to figure out where the wonky spots are.
But once you know them... I mean, I think at this point my speed record from base of tower to lamppost is like... 48 seconds? 50? Something under a minute, anyway. (In daylight, to be fair; I'm a *lot* more likely to miss jumps when speed-running if it's night and the light is terrible.)
I can see the new Leap of Faith map being annoying for folks -- especially the spiral tree portion, which is a potentially interesting mix of jump distances depending on where you stand for a given step -- but it doesn't have a lot of overhangs to bonk your head on, which is definitely going to make it a lot less obnoxious for folks to learn the course than Kugane Tower is.
I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.Originally Posted by Packetdancer
