Royal's little "spin, cut, magic glowy ball for whatever reason" I just have never liked. I'd rather it be the low level one that upgrades to Rage of Halone, which is still an animation that I love. Goring Blade's makes me think of the various Armor Break skills from FFTactics (the big magic blade slice out of the ground things). I'd honestly rather that be the standard animation. Royal Authority's animation has bothered me since the skill was introduced in HW...

    I do agree that new PLD isn't as bad as it was predicted, but there's some stuff like that which is just like "Why???" Goring is now just a budget Double Down that isn't nearly as satisfying to push and takes up an extra slot in the Tank Job that already has the most buttons. At least Double Down's animation and sound effect make it feel really good to use, and it actually has a potency that's noticeable.
    It's maybe a weird thing to harp on, but with it being made so similar to other tanks now, it really does feel apparent how weak PLD's animations are, generally. Holy Spirit was our Fell Cleave analogue and now it's more like our Burst Strike? But it looks and sounds like crap compared to either. Atonement is okay but is basically just a tweaked Riot Blade, and it seems like most of us feel like Royal Authority's magical princess spin is a downgrade from Rage of Halone's noisy flailing.

    I'm thinking a good animation for RA would be kinda like a Goring Blade in reverse, a huge downward sweep, then you spin counterclockwise (bash with shield as you go potentially), and as you finish the spin, a massive horizontal slash, a big + shape thing

    I'd keep the three-hit combo of Rage of Halone but add in a shield bash/slam as the second hit. Horizontal slash, bash, forward thrust.

    Better suggestion, remove Atonement. It was a mistake to even add back in ShB since it was just a spam button for some odd reason, and stacks are purposefully dropped in the rotation anyway.

    But what do you want instead? Press 123 again?
    You at least press them more then once ecery 60 sec.
    While Goring is just taking up space.

    Most people agree that Royal authority looks really weird, I think and I want holy spirit to also have a animation upgrade, give PLD magic earlier and use the old holy Spirit animation for that. PLD is funny as it takes until like level 64 to get any spell (outside clemency which is 58), so half your Job identity is missing for two expansions its also a 1, 2, 3 spam fest even in HW content where you at least had some sort of meaningful dot management... now it's really just bland early on. Goring Blade also looks so weak for a 700 potency hit....

    I also dislike interventions animation, holy shelltron looks way better so I'd like it if it looked like PLD was channelling a Holy shelltron on other targets and remove that Intervention animation, I was thinking that PLD should get stacks of fight or flight after using Goring blade? timers like no mercy and fight or flight aren't really good for single target buffs in jobs anymore, also Spell speed needs to synch with skill speed for both DRK/PLD.

    Did you know with the dot the total potency of Goring Blade in 6.2 was 705 ? Why it feel weak only now ? Because it's flat and not delayed in 21s ? Perceptions are kinda strange.

    Well the animation you'd think would make the target bleed (as so it was a DOT), but now it just feels weird and out of place, it doesn't look like a "burst attack" compared to something like the blades combo, but they do similar damage.

    Shouldn't have to explain how a animation that suited a DOT looks weird as a upfront burst attack but meh.

    Sonic Break does not look anything like a DOT, nor does it look like it'd be 900p over it's total duration, yet it is, and it does. Animations/Potency output often have nothing to do with each other. Goring's Animation is fine imo. RA is the one that needs a change, and maybe Atonement since it's just RiotBlade2 atm.

    Also Circle of Scorn could be changed to be a flat burst. Really not sure why they removed the DOT from Goring but left COS as a dot. It's 250p total potency too, it's pretty limp. Guess we know what we're getting at level 94 eh?
