It's awesome that this service is now available for these items, but are there any plans on adding some of the special bonus items from things like having the collectors edition to that list? The main reason I want this is so I can actually -get- the item in the first place; I bought the collectors edition after having played the game for a good few months on a free trial pass, but the Onion Helmet and other items are only given out during character creation, there's no way to get it at all on a preexisting character.
I won't be able to get my full Onion Knight AF set otherwise!

I second the motion to add onion helm to the list of replaceable items.

I play another game (that shall remain nameless) in which there are simply flags behind the scenes for getting various non tradeable items, participating in events, etc, and it allows you to go to an NPC to fetch back any of those sorts of items if you accidentally (or even purposely, to make room for instance) discard something. That seems like a simple, practical idea that also doesn't bog down GM's or whoever's working on redistributing these items so that they can work on other more important things. Also in that game, quest related items (like exclusive gear) can be retrieved from the NPC who gave it to you in the first place (or who sent you to get it if you didn't get it directly from anyone). It makes a LOT of sense to implement both of those sorts of ideas, at least for the rare and untradeable items. If an NPC has an unlimited supply of crowns, why not have him give you a spare if you lose yours? It's still recorded that you're eligible for one so I don't see a problem with programming it to check that sort of thing and replace as needed, so long as you put in the leg work to get back to him/her and pick it up in person.

Great news, everyone!

Needs to be "omg this is rare, are you sure??" confirmation box.

Also Hermes' Shoes. I didn't get rid of mine, but it would suck if I ever accidentally did. Though I think they should upgrade them to be slightly more useful, since we have chocobos now.
